Hilary Clinton departed from her new kinder, gentler image to pronounce the Bush presidency the worst ever.

Now there's the one who will scream loud and long against "unchecked power"... and would relish every ounce of "beefed-up" executive power that this administration can manage to wrangle from the Congress should she ever manage to get there herself.

I would certainly like to see a termination date on that added ability...

"Their glee over having a cause celebre that has about half of Americans worried about abuse of power by the executive branch and intrusions into their privacy knows no bounds."

The only abuse of power comes out of the liberal senator's mouths. Since the Alito hearings were televised, everyone had a chance to see the hypocrits in action.

I would call them Libs but that would imply they have an ideology which they do not. These folks haven't come to terms with the Clinton impeachment and the election of 2000. There platform eerily parrots Groucho Marx: "Whatever it is, I'm against it."

It seems to me if the RNC couples together the importance of the support of Representatives and local government folks who are up for election in 2006 with the issue of protecting the people via such practices as the terrorist wiretapping

WITH, as a close,

the video of that traitor Harry Reid and his quote "..20 minutes ago we killed the Patriot Act."

THEN, we have a winner!

the salient question is not whether the Bush administration is exceeding its authority, it’s whether or not the law needs be changed to provide the administration more flexibility to act quickly.

No, the salient question is how long the citizens of this country are going to allow the 5th column to undermine our war effort.
