The students at this school allow her to talk, and evidently listen to her, unlike some of the whiter schools where she often isn't even allowed to speak. Good to know PC doesn't have complete control of the historically black colleges.

She made a homicide joke about a sitting Supreme Court justice. There's no excuse in the world for saying something as stupid as that.

I think Ann was,in other words, saying, she hopes the Lord will bring Justice Stevens to his reward, preferably with a year or 2 to go with the Bush Administration still completely in control. Or she might have been praying that Stevens would retire and start collecting social security. These are my prayers for Justice Ginsberg also.
I don't think Anne really meant there to be a 'killin'. But we all know, the Reaper cometh.
To: Babu
"We need somebody to put rat poisoning in Justice Stevens' creme brulee," Coulter said at Philander Smith College in Little Rock, Ark. "That's just a joke, for you in the media." That's not a joke, it's a mental aberration.
Ann violated two rules that should never be broken when speaking in public:
- Never make a public comment that advocates killing someone, unless it's Bin Laden or some dangerous lunatic.
- Never assume the press will include your disclaimer, or even quote you correctly. Say nothing that has to be explained or mitigated, because the enemy within is waiting to use your own weapon against you.

I get tired of our people being held to a different standard. We can never make a joke of any kind. Supposed to sit there and take it from the commies like Alito did.

She should know, and undoubtably does, that only liberals can talk like that.
Remember "Henry Hyde should be stoned" by Alec Baldwin.
Or "Charlton Heston should be shot with a Bull Dog .44" by Spike Lee?

Both Comments are tasteless and deserve the attention of the Secret Service. Does the Secret Service protect Supreme Court Justices now? I thought the Court had it's own police.

What the hell are you thinking, Ann? It's not funny when a liberal does it and it's not funny when a conservative does it. The difference being that the liberals often wait days to say it was a joke, causing one to doubt their veracity.

Coulter has long ago gone over the edge. And I wouldn't have it any other way. When Howard Stern or Al Sharpton says something like this the MSM accepts it in a satirical light as "rhetoric", and lionize them for it. Let's not let them have all the fun.
To: CodeToad
She is only playing by liberal rules. You and Ann can 'play by liberal rules', but I think I'll keep higher standards.

If we objected to Alec Baldwin's or Spike Lee's or Julianne Malveaux's comments, are we supposed to just cheer Coulter on? If someone puts her foot in her mouth too often, after a while it stops being about one side against the other. I don't know if it's reached that point with Ann, but sooner or later if she keeps misspeaking ...

She has reached the point. We don't need our own Alec Baldwins, Spike Lees, Julianne Malveauxs, etc.

"My fellow Americans. I'm pleased to announce that I've signed legislation outlawing the Soviet Union. We begin bombing in five minutes." President Ronald ReaganI guess you'll need to add him to your handy little list.

That's quite a strech there, sport.
Reagan has nothing in common with the bunch I listed; for starters, he wouldn't say anything for money; the same cannot be said of the above named people.

No, I guess joking about initiating a nuclear attack against the USSR during the cold war is pretty mild in comparison to Coulter.
Of course, I think they're both funny, but then again I like both of them, so I'm not looking for an excuse to bash them whenever I can get it.

There is one big difference: Reagan THOUGHT he was speaking privately.
Coulter doesn't have the sense to think about that; she's fulfilling the left's stereotype of her.

Not funny Ann...She's a little too high strung for my taste. I think her rhetoric sometimes sinks to the bottom like democrats.

Having heard Julienne Malevolent lately, I think she sincerely hopes that it happens.
