Dow will make all-time highs this year with ease. Then again, the Dow doesn't mean much. The Russell 2000 has been making all-time highs for almost a year now. The Bush Economy is booming. But don't expect to hear anything about it.
I've been snickering about this all day, starting with the 100-point climb in less than an hour after the opening bell : )
Its Friday, Profit taking time. So sell Sell Sell
This will be short lived. There is the false belief that this weak economic news will make it likely that the Federal Reserve will stop raising rates. The Fed is out of touch with reality, so expect more rate hikes and a recession.
Are you implying this rally is some kind of contrarian reaction to the crappy GDP (reported by the Bush administration, not by the MSM)?
Virtually every equity market in the world rallied sharply in the last 24 hours, including the Nikkei up nearly 600 points last night.
My point is these rallies have nothing to do with economic news in the US, good or bad.
A lot of people on both sides of the bull/bear equation are scratching heads over this one.
My only observation is that similar violent swings without rhyme or reason were seen in early 2000 and you know what happened after that.
How is a 75% reduction in quarterly GDP "booming"? Are you on some kind of acid trip?
That just shows how strong the economy has been in the last 3 years.
This should send a CRYSTAL clear message to all MSM advertisers, the MSM is irrelevant because no one is paying attention to them.
The MSM can spin a recession any more.
oops typo
CAN't spin a recession.
>> How is a 75% reduction in quarterly GDP "booming"? Are you on some kind of acid trip? <<
O my goodness! An 80% unemployment rate! A trillion-dollar deficit! Complete societal collapse!
O wait... It seems you misstated your facts. It's a 75% reduction in the QUARTERLY GROWTH of the GDP!
Statistical noise. Get over it.
Look for a major upward revision. Too many things don't add up in this report.
In this volatile market...the place to be is in small-float microcaps.
I call them spikers.....like....CTDC....CTTY.....CSLR....
sure they add up.
They add up to a MSM effort in conjuction with democrat career employees to spin a bad ecconomy for 2006 elections.
All I know is this is the worst economy since Herbert Hoover. < \Harry Reid>
The Fed will not keep hiking rates. One more at the most, and maybe not even that. JMHO.
It's not a reduction in the GDP, it's a reduction in the GDP GROWTH. GDP is still going up and still has healthy growth on the year, just 4th quarter's growth was a little wimpy compared to other quarters.
Did a little day trading today. Broadcom went from $58 to $69. I didn't stick around for the whole ride, that's not how I play but it was a quick win and I need the money to go to Vegas. This is definitly the worst economy since 1929. LOL. These msm dummies wouldn't know how to take advantage of an opportunity and so they do what they do best, cry and moan about how bad it is and unfair and blah, blah.......
The Dow is full of old economy companies that are going down the drain. It's amazing that it's still where it is.
