(Hamas:)'We wanted to be in the opposition' (Also Want "World to be an Islamic State")
Jerusalem Post ^ | January 27, 2006 | Orly Halpern

More than 50 percent of the Palestinian Legislative Council is theirs, and they don't have a clue what to do next, but according to at least one Hamas leader, talking to Israel is in the cards.

"We're examining our options," said Yasser Mansour, the No. 5 Hamas leader told The Jerusalem Post. "We are researching each and every issue."

Indeed, a Hamas leader in Nablus, a professor at An-Najah University who did not run, told the Post that many of the leaders were disappointed with the results. "We didn't want this, we didn't hope for this. We wanted to be in the opposition," he said, speaking at a green-flagged, rabble-rousing victory rally in downtown Nablus. "Now all the responsibility is on us."

What is certain is that although it holds a majority and it can form its own government, Hamas does not want to run the country alone. "We will speak to all the parties and make a coalition," Mansour told the Post.

Further down in the article, this interesting quote:

He said that ideally Hamas would want the world to be an Islamic state, but practically speaking it wants a Palestinian state in all of mandatory Palestine.

Does this sound familiar?

This would be hilarious were it not so tragic.
Of course it's easier to be the opposition!
It requires no brains, no restraint, no creativity, no respect for the truth, no grasp of reality, and the license to destroy.

Exactly like our liberal "progressive" party and its flying monkeys...

Exactly!

Once Klinton lost Congress and Senate, his star began to rise.

All he did was promise everyone everything and then say, had it not been for Evil Republicans, he would have done it already.

It was the best thing that happenned to him.

The light of truth is foreign to these thugs, they will have a rough time getting the lies straight.

... practically speaking it wants a Palestinian state in all of mandatory Palestine.

Knowing that these clowns are both insane and delusional, what do you suppose that they mean by "madatory palestine"?

The original British mandate was intended to be equally divided between muslims and Jews.
The creation of Transjordan in 1921 completely destroyed the original intent, hence this "mandatory palestine" delusion is all the more puzzling.

poor poor Hamas...they have gone from the security of being the peanut gallery to the ones who are looked to for actual leadership.

I am sure they will fail miserably.

A revealing statement.

Terrorists are, of course, not used to taking responsibility. A weasel pretending to be an elephant; no concept of order, stability or serving the people.

Hamas is an illegitimate government.

I was curious about the "mandatory Palestine" reference as well. I've heard other Palestinians speak of the "1967 borders" as to where they would like Israel to retreat. I don't think either of them are telling the truth--they simply want Israel to disappear.

Indeed, the security forces guarding hotels where foreign election observers stayed had long faces. "This is terrible," said one named Majdi. "Maybe Hamas will tell us to go to war."

Looking over at his colleagues, he asked "You guys ready for jihad?"

The line of young men in camouflage uniforms carrying assault rifles looked up at him blankly. "No man," said one. "No way."

LOL!!! It appears it's a lot more fun to talk about killing all the Jews than it is to actually try it.

It's easy to be the opposition.

But now, when Fatima comes to complain that the sewer is backing up, YOU have to figure out what to do.

Time for Israel to retake their own land back in Gaza. And time for sending these trouble-making murderous palis to Iran, Syria, Jordan, Egypt or even Saudi Arabia.

Other than receiving money from the un and iran, what productive work do the pali's do to support their country? There seem to be 3+million ragheads on the dole. Do they have any industry?

It reminds me of the elections for my high school class president, etc. The sleazy, popular doofuses with no clue get elected. The only difference is that in high school the worst that happens is a 17th year reunion instead of a 5th or 10th. In Hamas' case, people die.

Puzzling? Seems that Hamas doesn't just want the land of Israel, but also to overthrow the Hashemite monarchy and take Jordan.

In answering my own questions, I went to the CIA home page which links to all country's data. The pali state is listed as gaza and the west bank and it is a 60 year old welfare state. There is 50% unemployement with most that are working are in the service business. There is a little agriculture {15%} and the biggest industry is jew hating. The women average 6 kids per litter, with one bred specifically for suicide bombing. The fall of sadman cost hundreds of families $25,000 per year. If there is any hope for this sad situation, I can't see it.

Jimmy carter tells us this was a free fair election. If hamass is the legitimate choice of the palestinians, have they not signed their own death warrant? Opting for murdering thuggery leadership leads to the abyss. These are the people our "political leaders" have been bailing out for decades with our money??
