An aide to Sen. Cornyn said that John Kerry is like "Christmas every day" for Republicans. Someone here said it was "Christmas in Cambodia" every day for Republicans. God bless 'em both. But what I REALLY want, is John Kerry to be the 2008 nominee for the Dems. Seriously. We couldn't get Dean in '04, but if we can make sure John Kerry gets credit for his political ploy here, maybe it will be the best gift of all.
I actually am serious about this. Those that dissent from my opinion will not be flamed. But who would you rather have carrying the (d) mantle. Sharpton?
i meant 2008, not 2006
I'm with you. Only I'm hoping for Kerry and Gore and a return to inspired skits on SNL.
Your absolutely right - some credit may be due here - while some do believe clothes make the man all this Pix proves is that even in a bunny suit he is still an ass.
I just can't stop laughing whenever I see that picture. It's so much like Ralphie in that bunny suit in "A Christmas Story."
I'm actually considering moving my "Run Hillary Run" bumper sticker from the front of my car, to the back of my car.
No problem. But define "conservative", since that seems to have morphed from "responsible-tax-cutting-small-government-types", to a mirror image of it's democratic counterpart, i.e. "big-government-spend-it-all-buying-votes-with-other-people's-money-types".
When I stop to thnk about the ballooning federal budgets in the last five years, all the pork, the apparent lack of morals (i.e. DeLay's troubles, Abramoff), I'm beginning to wonder if there any "conservatives" left. Except those that will keep a republican who can win (like a Guiliani) off the ticket in 2008 (not pro-life and labelled a "gun-grabber", messy personal life). The ones within the party apparatus who control the money and delegates.
So, if you have a TRUE conservative in mind, with the ability to actually win (i.e. have wide appeal while openly espousing a conservative agenda), I'm all ears. I certainly don't know of one.
Shhh! Don't wake him from his delusional trance!
I submit that your only Republican hopes in 2008 are Rice, Gingrich and Giuliani, or any combination thereof. One an ideological unknown, a true conservative and a moderate republican.
My guess: the party apparatus will cut it's nose off to spite it's face, and rather than have to advance Rice and Giuliani will opt instead for McCain/Allen. In that case, 2008 is a lost cause.
Oh, God, I really don't. I don't think I could take any more of John Kerry, please, no more. Whine. Whine. :-(
Old hatchet face..is such a bullsh*** that even
