This reminds me a horrible situation from the late 70's. A good friend of mine at the time was Vietnamese. She told me that she knew of former Viet Cong who were enrolled at Northern Virginia Community College. And, because of their minority status as Asians, they would be given slightly more preference for admissions than a white veteran.
In other words, if my father (who was injured by a VC land mine near Bac Lieu) had chosen to attend NVCC, he would have to get in line behind the bastard that planted the mine.
