Hey, FReepers, wanna have some fun? The DUmmies have posted a link to a site sponsored by People for the American way, to submit FREE faxes to multiple Senators, urging them to filibuster the Alito confirmation. I took advantage of it -- only I changed the subject from "Filibuster Alito" to "DO NOT Filibuster Alito!!", and I deleted their canned message and replaced it with one of my own.

I understand that the filibuster is not a tool to be used trivially, and should not be used for partisan politics. Alito is not a threat. Stand up for your Senate, stand up for the Constitution, and stand up for we, the people. I ask you NOT to filibuster Samuel Alito’s nomination to the United States Supreme Court.

You do have a point, there. A filibuster would be highly entertaining in some respects, and it would expose the RATs as the petty obstructionists that they are.

I got the same auto-response to mine. I wonder if anyone bothers to review these things before they are forwarded to the Senators? I can't imagine that they would be able to handle the volume! Heh heh heh...

I think it is a great cause, but I don't see them filibustering. They don't even have the votes.
