I forget where I read it, it was a link on a site somewhere.. but it was the transcript of a meeting that took place in the white house while Clinton was drawing up the assault weapons ban. Some of that group mentioned this exact goal.. banning anything even remotely gun shaped or military.. going so far as to ban possession of ammo cans, BDUs and such under the guise of "Removing all violent tools and objects from society" or some such..
Sounds like thats where this lady is getting her cues from.

Clinton also wanted to disarm our military (only 100,000 soldiers, no reservists or National Guard, and no Marine Corps) and create a large federal police force (More loyal to him). He also wanted to get rid of 95% of our nuclear weapons, and make it so Army units could not get rifles until combat.
