There is no guarantee that roll your own material can't be taxed out of existence also, as soon as the volume justifies it.

There is only a 25 cent surcharge on a bag of tobacco in town.  It will take a long long time for them to bump the taxes up on a bag of tobacco to match what you pay on a carton today.  I'm not worried about it.

I am. I'm paying about two dollars more a pound now than I was 2 years ago. And roughly a dollar more per box of papers/tubes. More & more have started to roll their own-my brother and his wife finally listened to me and got machines. The more people do it, the more the companies will see 'gold mine', and jack prices up more and more. Then, the government's going to see the writing on the wall & step in.
