Most have been off Israel, where the Israelis have been able to deal with the problem without using an acoustic swimmer denial system.

Bullets - the universal deterrent.

The Raytheon "swimmer denial" uses sound waves that are tuned to cause severe gastric distress in humans.

If it works, it's a very good idea. A diver would HAVE to surface, where the rapscallion is easily dispatched.

Technically. I think depth charges could be considered an acoustic swimmer denial system. A very loud acoustic swimmer denial system.

Yeah, just set them to "chili grind" and toss 'em overboard.

Especially if he is suffering from the bends due to rapid decompression:).

Sadly, no, it's not.

On second thought, I'd rather not ponder that.

You could do the same thing at anchor by stationing cases of grenades around the docks and on deck and encouraging the watchstanders to occasionally lob a few into the water. No damage to the hull of a docked ship then. :-)
