CNNGALLUP SHOCK POLL: ONLY 16% FIRM ON HILLARY FOR PRESIDENT Wed Jan 25 2006 10:50:26 ET

Most voters now say there's no way they'd vote for Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton if she runs for president in 2008 - while just 16 percent are firmly in her camp, a stunning new poll shows.

CNNGALLUP found that 51 percent say they definitely won't vote for Clinton (D-N.Y.) in 2008, another 32 percent might consider it, and only 16 percent vow to back her. That means committed anti-Hillary voters outnumber pro-Hillary voters by 3-1. The poll suggests she can forget about crossover votes - 90 percent of Republicans and 75 percent of conservatives say there's no way they'd back her.

Meanwhile, 46% said they would oppose Secretary of State Rice if she ran for President - a step Rice has repeatedly said she won't take.

I wonder how easy bill is resting with this news. The Widow Clinton could garner sympathy votes. I hope they're both looking at each other with distrust and fear.

Hillary's biggest mistake was running for senator in New York. Had she run as a senator from Ark she might have stood a chance.

I don't think she would have won in Arkansas.

I don't consider her smart at all. She's simply showed an ability to understand and promote Marxist theology and thus she graduated from Yale. I also heard Rush say that before the CNN poll there was another poll (maybe Pew) that had the same results. I'm not surprised and I hope that little punk, Dick Morris, is asked about this poll when he shows up on Fox!

After reviewing my opinion, I must change it. That would make her the first Black Widow President. The irony would be too great for her to overcome.

It's called shuckin' and jivin'. If they had talked to you, instead of each other, you could have understood them.

I still predict the Democrat nominee is going to be Governor Warner from Virgina.

He will run as a "Southern", conservative Democrat just like Clinton did. It will draw enough votes to probably give him Florida, Missouri, Virginia, and Arkansas.

Driven and power hungry and supported by the intellectual powers that be.

Not smart. Alito is an example smart. Got where he is, despite intense opposition all through his academic training, stuck to what he is smart enough to recognize is right, and worked hard to do right by the law and the country. Smart recognizes that the only lasting positive contributions are those taken respectfully and with careful foresight.

Stupid is thinking you can make the world better or be personally fulfilled by becoming a tyrant...

Rush talked about this today, said she just isn't likable, no way, and then he played her screaming tape!

I doubt even the Stuck on Stupid Dims could listen to that for four years!
