One by one, the Democratic Party keeps having to abandon all the insane positionsYet, they keep finding three dozen new insane positions to put in place of every one they down play.

What I find disturbing is that a lot of liberals might really believe that they are opposed to killing children even as they continue to claim it is a right. This kind of thinking is to my mind a demonstration of how far astray their moral compass has gone. I can accept people disagreeing on subjects like taxation and how much the government should do. Those are acceptable areas for honest debate and disagreement. But to say I am opposed to killing babies but its not my decision to make, brings to mind the scriptural warning about those who are neither hot nor cold. It really demonstrates a breathtaking capacity for self delusion.

Hope she's right, that the Democrats are dropping the pro-choice agenda. I don't think Howard Dean is going to follow that, so there may be a power struggle in the DNC.

I guess Sandra Day O'Connor's demand that "the contending sides" on abortion "end their national division" and accept the court's diktat in Roe didn't work out for her."There exists strong contention that the USSC abandoned all legitimacy and abdicated back in 1973 with the decision on Roe.

William Saletan gently counseled feminists that it was time to admit: "It's bad to kill a fetus." It's not a "fetus". It's a baby.

I'm not sure about this. There is an awful lot of money the dims raise tied to this issue, more than just the feminists. Most Hollyweird money is radically pro-abortion as is the NEA. The dims may go down with the ship rather than throw this issue overboard. Look at the Alito vote - straight party-line opposition to an eminently qualified 15 year veteran of a federal Court of Appeals due to one, single issue: abortion.

As Abraham Lincoln said of another moral blight on the nation supported by Democrats: You can "repeal the Declaration of Independence -- repeal all past history -- you still cannot repeal human nature. It will still be the abundance of man's heart, that slavery extension is wrong; and out of the abundance of his heart, his mouth will continue to speak." It is ironic that blacks flock to a political party which was founded on the idea of keeping blacks in slavery.
