NEW DELHI - A landmark nuclear deal between India and the United States will “die” in Washington if New Delhi supports Iran at the upcoming meeting of the U.N. atomic watchdog agency, the U.S. ambassador said Wednesday.
A week before the International Atomic Energy Agency meets to discuss Iran’s nuclear program, U.S. Ambassador David Mulford said that if India does not vote to refer Tehran to the U.N. Security Council, it would be “devastating” to the deal currently before the U.S. Congress.
“I think the Congress will simply stop considering the matter,” Mulford told the Press Trust of India news agency.

What on earth are you talking about? i have clearly written on the
FIRST line of my post that india sided with us in the previous vote. You are getting incrediby desperate.
Do me a favor, show me how who i am can change the content of the article. It is not like i wrote the article. If you are upset that india is hesitating about supporting the US again, take it out on the indian government.
Don't shoot the messenger becasue you dont like the message.

That's the point. India voted with the US when it mattered. So how can you say "and now in the dispute with Iran"? I googled news articles and oculd not see where any Indian official said that they will vote with Iran this time. So what is the rationale for your "and now in the dispute with Iran" claim? Do you know something that we all don't know?
To: sangrila
nope, some fought bravely, but they didnt all side with us in WWII. Saberwielder is mad at me because in a previous thread a few months back i posted images of the indian national army which fought AGAINST the US in WWII. He especially didnt like the pictures of indian independence leaders meeting with Nazis in europe.
Simply put, the indians under the british fought with us and the indians that were independent fought against us.
This is the FR thread that he is so mad at me for:
Hitler's secret Indian army. It had to be locked because it got taken over by Nazis.
To: minus_273
Firstly, I don't know how I can be mad at a thread that I barely knew or participated in. Secondly, you keep using "us" when you won't even reveal your nationality which you admitted is non-American. Troll mein?
To: minus_273
The problem is the US is no saint either. How many times have we left India holding the bag or in a bad position? You can't keep lying to someone and then expect them to jump every time you get your panties in a twist. The US needs to really get its foreign policy in order. For 60 years, we've been top dog, but we act so schitzo, nobody of even common sense can trust us.

from the article " New Delhi has, in recent weeks, appeared hesitant to repeat the vote."
how about this, after the vote, ping me. If india sides with US, then Iran has one less ally and we both win. If India sides against us, we both lose. Me because I am concerned about the situation in Iran and you because you are ( or seem to be, feel free to correct me) concerned about India's image. a deal?
I think that should resolve this. I mean if India supports Iran on nukes, some thing even France is with us on, i think it should clarify which side they are on.

So what if India abstains?
To: Saberwielder
funny you say that. I am assuming form the flamebait nature of your posts that you are trolling on a new account. You've cleary mentioned my previous posts in your allegation that i am a pakistani.
I have calerly said that i am not muslim, indian or pakistani. I don't want to say more because if you combine my national origin with the school i went to and the dorm i lived in from my profile, it is not hard for someone who wants to to figure out who i am. I know more than enough people who think FR is a hate site. Let me just leave it at that.
To: Saberwielder
not exacly an ally then huh? in any case, lets see how the vote goes. As i said, ping me.
To: minus_273
Funny then you must think Pakistan is not exactly an ally since they abstained the last time Iran was put to vote. As you noted India voted with "us."
To: Saberwielder
sure, but pakistan has 50 years of being an ally to back it up. What does india have? no seriously, can you tell me in which major conflicts the indian govenment (not british india) has backed us up. If you can give me a list of even 3 or 4, I will admit that i was wrong about india and apologize. You can reply to this post.
To: Saberwielder
Does it matter what nationality he is? Consider that 100% of Americans (save for Native Americans depending on who you ask) are of Immigrant ancestry.

Pakistan was a client state of ours which did what we told it to do in return for weapons and dollars. Pakistan is with us today only because we promised to convert them into a radioactive parking lot if they stood in our way after 9/11.
The only war that matters to me today is the War on Terror. India is fundamentally with us on that effort. I remember that India was the first nation after 9/11 to offer us bases. Pakistan is nominally with us on the GWOT but we all know they are one bullet away from being a target state since their intelligence agencies are hand in golve with Al Qaeda and the Taliban.
Now you can go and live in the past but I'd like to look to the future where India is a necessary ally in the war against radical Islam. No Muslime nation can be our true ally in that effort. Clients and paid agents - may be. But allies - no. Capice?

It takes years to be fully NATIONALIZED if you come here Legally. That is why his profile states he is not an American YET.

I believe it's called Naturalization. The profile says that he/she is not even a permanent resident which I believe is a pre-requisite to be a naturalized US citizen. Without bein a permanent resident, a person is just someone visiting the US.
To: Saberwielder
I like how you ignored the fact that india has traditionally been against the US and may not have changed today. That aside, i like your ending statement:
"Now you can go and live in the past but I'd like to look to the future where India is a necessary ally in the war against radical Islam. No Muslime nation can be our true ally in that effort. Clients and paid agents - may be. But allies - no. Capice?"
Funny you mentioned that. Did you read the part in the article where Iran is mentioned as being a long time ally of India. What kind of country is allied with the mullas in Iran?
I criticize india because it has traditionally been against the US (a fact you have indirecty admitted) in addition, it is a traditional ally of the Mullas (what the whole article is really about). Considering these two things voting against us or abstaining doesnt make it much of a friend.
India is NOT an ally in the GWOT . They did not back us in Iraq and still don't. Britain is an ally. Australia is an ally. Israel is an ally. Many eastern europen countries that were part of the warsaw pact are. Where is india? oh yeah, they dont help us when push comes to shove.
The only reason India does anything is because of Kashmir and pakistan. Rest assured, if there were not kashmir conflit, india would be staunchly opposed to the US in the GWOT.
WRT to Pakistan, as you pointed out, they are no saints. However, I would take a country that has backed us for 50 years over one that never has. Had india joined us in the GWOT like the countries in eastern europe, i would be strongly defending india right now. The fact is, they didnt.
