I'd say the comment was more stupid than offensive.

Now let's see. We have a "chocolate" publication totally missing the point of Hillary!'s "plantation" remark. I guess the writers of this article enjoy playing the banjo and singing while Miss Hillary! and Mr. Bill drink mint juleps on their political veranda.
Did I miss anything?

Some media appear to be agitated by the remarks made by Sen. Hillary Clinton, which reference the Republican leadership as being 'like a plantation'. Such surrounds their perception of this statement as being offensive to African Americans. Which of the following most accurately reflects your feeling about this so called controversy:
I am outraged by her remarks 76 (67.26%)
Hillary 'gets it' the others are still lost 18 (15.93%)
'Plantation' as a description of the Republican leadership is a severe understatement 19 (16.81%

No, just stupid.
However, it did likely remove the word from the lexicon.
Prior to here pronouncement, the usual context for
"plantation" was in asking black voters why they are
still on the Democrat plantation, since the dems never
actually do anything for them except presume their
votes and make sure none run against party wheels.

The comment was completely inane. There is no coherent comparison of the GOP Congress to a plantation. None. It's as if she were addressing a group of elderly women and said "as you know, the GOP budget is like geritol, you know what I'm saying?" It's bizarre. She has zero touch on the stump.
