Good morning once again, all you fellow political junkies. Put on a fresh pot of coffee, put the sticky buns in the oven, put a fresh battery in the remote control, and join us for the latest episode of the world's greatest daytime soap opera, "As the Democrats Bloviate." Yup, once again, it's that time...
:-) Thanks, Txsleuth! I am sure that you are right! Woo Hoo!
Is Casey pro-life?
"Someone, that who has been watching all day...am I dreaming about a Kelo reference?"
No. Bill Nelson (D-FL) said one of the reasons he was voting against Alito was because he wouldn't state definitively one way or another his views on Kelo vs. New London.
ROFLOL! See you Save Liberty!
Actually, not heated enough IMHO!!
I wish Leaky would have let Hatch have time to debate...but, unfortunately...everyone had made up their minds in 2000....
so, no suspense...and when they are going at an hour for dem, and then an hour for the GOP...there is not direct back and forth...
Being born prior to 1950 I'm selfishly glad that Social Security may not go away for those of us who didn't always have 501K's available (thanks to Dims being in office a lot of those years)....
I think it should definitely be changed, but it does need to take into consideration that if we had been able to invest the money we paid out year after year none of us pre-50's babies would give a whit about SS. We didn't have that option -- and is why I totally support George Bush in his plan to allow people to invest their SS dollars... may have to make it manditory or a lot of young will spend it rather than invest it...
So, yes, SS is socialist and that is the way the socialist Dims set it up and that is how they want to keep it and one more reason not to vote for anyone with a "D" ever, ever, ever...
:) LOL LOL LOL
Casey is pro-life, but when it comes to judicial nominations, he'll likely vote with the rest of the Rats. He'll claim he's voting "No" because of concern over other issues.
You put it much more eloquently than I did. :-)
Didn't they say the same thing in '04 when Kerry lost? and they were all going to move to Canada? Trouble is: Canada didn't want them ~LOL~
:-)
My father stopped over a bit ago, so I had to tear away from the computer for a while and we were talking about the Senate debate and we both agreed this is a complete waste of everyone's time when we all know how everyone intends to vote.
The Reed that is speaking had some kind of presser today about that report that Rummy was talking about..
The one that says that the military is tired, and under stress, and blah, blah, blah...
He said he had just come back from Iraq and Afghanistan and he was under the same impression....so, once again, the newspapers provide the dems some talking points.
I'd send this REED guy $20 bucks if he'd shut up. This guy is mind numbing.
Good combo
Does the GOP need to clean house? You betcha, but putting in another Kerry or Kennedy is not the answer.
Since we're all ignoring Reed anyway:
Bush: NSA Wont Listen In On Senate Alito Debate

President George Bush today promised Senate Democrats that the National Security Agency (NSA) would not secretly listen in to their floor speeches during debate over the Supreme Court confirmation of Judge Samuel Alito, even though Democrats have promised to make the legality of NSA wiretaps a major issue during the debates.
We dont want to impinge upon the Democrats civil rights, said President Bush, So Ive received assurances from the NSA and most other government agencies that no one will listen in on their speeches.
The president said that Democrat Senators could speak their minds without fear that anyone will ever hear a word they say.

One of those then.
We'll he ever shut up? Who is keeping the time? Dr. Coburn may have passed out up there in the big chair.
LOL!!
