Good morning once again, all you fellow political junkies. Put on a fresh pot of coffee, put the sticky buns in the oven, put a fresh battery in the remote control, and join us for the latest episode of the world's greatest daytime soap opera, "As the Democrats Bloviate." Yup, once again, it's that time...
LOL
Except for the dufus who asked him if he'd seen "Brokeback Mountain." ...very inappropriate IMHO.
You didn't miss much
Everything is Bush's fault
Alito hates women, blacks and children
He secretly wants to do away with the Civil Rights Act
Oh and Kerry blamed Ann Coulter for the reason Alito was picked
I have had that feeling since before the hearings really...perhaps because Alito didn't have any "skeletons" that the dems KNEW would keep him off of the court...
I think that is one reason that the dems put off the hearings until this year...
If they had anything really BAD about him...they would have wanted it out to be talked about over the Christmas break.
And that is all anyone needs to know about DU.
No they don't, they are such trollops. They will turn on anyone who doesn't comply.
Well, if you were a guy, and Ann asked you to do something, could you refuse her?
LOL! At your peril!
I honestly don't think Byrd is 'all there'. He's starting to go the way of Strom before he past away
Santorum sure doesn't deserve my vote....and unless he does a full prostrate mea culpa in the middle of Grant Street in Pittsburgh.......he's not going to get it.
I'm not the only one who is holding him accountable for his Socialist ways. Many of my friends are likewise withholding support.
I'm not voting for the lesser of the evils anymore.
They're not voting on anything yet. The "tote board" on CSPAN 2 only shows how Senators are going to vote from their own declarations. The votes were taken from the results of the confirmation committee votes and from their floor statements today. Media speculation isn't counted in the numbers.
I think that's the simplest way to "keep the possibility alive." Most folks, espcially those who are opposed at all cost to this nominee, have a hard time conceptualizing being "for the vote but against the nominee." Better for the DEM party to have some clear turncoats, "for Alito," hence the filibuster just couldn't happen even if we wanted to try.
But the DEMs have surprised me consistently, and pushed harder than reason indicates. In the end though, there won't be a failed cloture vote, not with this nominee.
Bwahahahaha! Starting?
He seems sad..
That's how he appears to me, too. Problems at home, perhaps? Trying to parent 7 children well must take time, maybe more time than he can find while simultaneously fund raising, campaigning, and working at Capitol Hill.
So you are not voting in PA for the Senate? Fine have it your way.
Thanks for that link to the DU
It reminds me of election night all over again .. FOFL!!
Yes, but you could tell he was a democrat, people expect them to be dumb.
Thanks alot you big pimpin' Freeper. I love these threads...LOL.
Yeah. Me too. It was a rotten pick. I think more good will come from it than bad though.
"they are such trollops. They will turn on anyone who doesn't comply."
Not that I disagree but we have the exact same problem.
