""Our government has to do something," he told the Bulletin."

Blahahaha! Keep dreaming. What does he think, the dems are going to do something. We know the Republicans don't care. They control the federal government, yet do nothing.

This was on Rush and I bet O'Reilly picks it up. You do not want the amount of federal power it would take to overcome incompetent and enabling local law enforcement. They must get on the same page.

"You do not want the amount of federal power it would take..."

It's the federal governments job to enforce our laws on the border. They currently have the power, but refuse to use it. The politicians are afraid of what happened to California Gov. Wilson.

What we should do is put the Border Patrol in the same league as the US Coast Guard... Make them a joint unit of Homeland Security and Dept of Defence, and then give them the weapons and equipment our military have. Also, give the new Border Patrol personell military training along the lines of Army training, with some LEO training included.

"It's been so bred into everyone not to start an international incident with Mexico that it's been going on for years," Doyal told the Bulletin. "When you're up against mounted machine guns, what can you do? Who wants to pull the trigger first? Certainly not us."

>>>

I guess I'd have (possibly) died trying.

"Our government has to do something," he told the Bulletin. "It's not the immigrants coming over for jobs we're worried about. It's the smugglers, Mexican military and the national threat to our borders that we're worried about."

Yeah, good one. Our government doing something about securing our borders is beyond a joke. This world has become beyond surreal. America, America, America. Oh my.

Also, use a ranking system similar to the US army, and put a Brigidar General in charge of the Border Patrol.

If even a pound of marijuana were found inside of an American's residence, a no-knock raid followed by an American or two probably dying would have been the outcome.

What a shame.

I wager that plenty of Texans have a .50 with a scope and know how to use it. It wouldn't take that long to gitterdun.

All the training, equipment, and personel in the world won't do them any good, if the fed gov. ties their hands like they have the BP's.

Unfortunately for America, you both nailed the issue square with your two respective posts. However, you forgot OIL.

If President Bush doesn't effectively deal with it, his Presidency will have gone over like a fart in church.

That's a really, really pi**-poor reason if that's the excuse.

If they are actually Mexican soldiers invading our sovereign territory we have a right to resist-- which might result in many or all of them being killed; international incident perhaps, but what to hell. We're right and they're wrong. On the other hand if they are just a bunch of drug bandits wearing Mexican Army Uniforms and we kill every one of the sons-of-bitches on the assumption that it is an invasion, that would be okay. But I suppose by the rationale of the Brokeback Mountain mainstream media, if they are just pretend soldiers invading us only to deliver drugs in order to give their mom's a better life then they are in some way landed immigrants and have some sort of constitutional right not to be dead just yet. Shoot all of these uniformed scumbags and sort the body bags out later if anyone can find any. Find a place in northern Maine to bury any of these Mexican Soldiers so we can make some tourist profit on the journeys of their families to see the trench we threw them in and bulldozed over. You people attack, we do know what to do, though the press wouldn't admit it. Wouldn't be PC or Brokeback Mountainish.
