The program also stated that warming could cause cooling?
ROFLOL Great post!
Does this mean that Olympic skiers will stick to the slopes of Torino?
I thought alcohol hastens the loss of body heat?
I looked them up and they are the orchids among penguins. Turns out they are "warm weather" penguins and the stupid things actually dig burrows or live under houses in the summer to get out of the hot sun. They do not migrate "preferring to reside in temperate waters year round. Although, their principal threat is the activity of man." That probably means people beating them off the back porch with a broom.
weather, n.
1. That which is caused by Global Warming.
2. the state of the atmosphere with respect to heat or cold, wetness or dryness, calm or storm, clearness or cloudiness, --- regardless of what it is --- which always proves there's Global Warming
(Kind of reminds me of the old joke about bongo-bongo. Three explorers captured by an indigenous tribe, each offered in turn the choice between death and bongo-bongo. The first two chose bongo-bongo, but it's so horrible to watch that the third chooses death. So the Tribal Chief says, "Ok, I sentence you to death... by bongo-bongo.)
LOL!
It does, by dilating blood vessels near the skin. Booze can even cause death in hypothermia cases by allowing cool blood trapped near the skin by constricted blood vessels to circulate suddenly, cooling the heart enough to stop it. That last is why when I was in the Navy ceased the former practice of giving aircrews a shot of brandy after being pulled from the water.
The screams of outraged pilots could be heard over a Phantom on full afterburner.
There is a post about 5 minutes behind this one, it states last year was the warmest on record.
Gotta be Fahrenheit. If Celcius that wouldn't be cold at all, since 21 C is 70 F.
Seems that even the "cold" parts of Europe (outside of Russia) don't bottom out as low as most of the Midwest and New England.
Re: the penguins ... I was scratching my head over that one, too.
Unlike Antarctic penguins that huddle together in large groups to stay warm, Humboldt penguins have no need to do this because of the warm, temperate climate in which they live.
Guess these little guys prefer warmer climes :)
