What person in their right mind would loan such a person money?
I'd sell any interest I had in Wells Fargo about now.

Illegals buying homes? I thought our government would be nice enough to give the illegals homes, courtesy of the American citizen taxpayers.
I better not say that too loud. They might hear me.

Banks Find Mortgage Clientele in Undocumented Immigrants

Dalila and William Timal look like any other couple signing a home mortgage. They've picked out paint colors for their new four-bedroom house in Indianapolis and can't wait for their 18-month-old son to play in the yard.
But they differ in one way from many others you'd see at a loan officer's desk: Neither is a U.S. citizen or legal resident. The Timals came to this country from Guatemala in the late '90s and illegally overstayed their visas.
They're the beneficiaries of a new program by Cincinnati-based Fifth Third Bank, basing mortgages on an individual taxpayer identification number, or ITIN.
Nationwide, increasing numbers of financial institutions offer such loans. They view customers like the Timals as part of their communities, not to mention a critical business opportunity. Just among the nation's roughly 6 million undocumented Latinos is a potential $44 billion market for homes, according to the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1364089/posts

The fact that such a question could even be asked with a straight face is a glaring example of how bloody insane this country has become. And the fact that no politician has the nads to denounce such perverted reasoning is just as bad.

As a native-born citizen who's scraping and saving to buy a home on just my income (hubby is in school for another 4 months) so that we can have a place to live AND pay off my student loans, I find it disgusting that illegals can get a mortgage - and probably easier than I can!
To: Millicent_Hornswaggle
If they are caught and deported, how do they repay the loan? How does that get factored in to their TRW?

This San Diego channel has gone to hell in a hand basket. Their lead story Sunday, a day when local business was shot up, a motorcyclist was run down and a car flew into a tree killing three (the lead stories of competing other channels) was the pro-Roe demonstrations. The second story was the latest dead minors in KY, I think.
They've always had a soft spot for abortion, their "medical expert" in the 80's was a leading local abortionist.

One of the competing stations in the San Diego market (owned by the NBC network),
KNSD has launched a Spanish version of itself dubbed "Mì San Diego" because Balkanization is the ultimate end of liberal multiculturalism.

Note for those following at home, this Mì San Diego is not just a simulcast (which I'd welcome as a bridge to assimilation) but a separate channel with alternative Spanish-language programming (incl. a talk show, TV court show and reality shows), soccer & boxing coverage and focus on classic Mèxican cinema.
It's been shown that non-English speakers are increasingly turning to ethnic media and away from mainstream sources of news and entertainment.

The major banking industry has become ultra-competitive for mortgage loans. Most of their stocks haven't budged more than 10 dollars upwards in years so they got to have blowout numbers to budge it even a few dollars up. Many now pay decent dividends to attract investors.
The banks look around and know that this countries immigration policy is a total joke and there is about 0 enforcement. 1 million mexicans a year flood into this country.
Wells is just one of many giving out high risk mortgages. Then after they've collected a year or two of pure interest, they sell the loan off to organizations like Freddie Mac or Fannie Mae, or package a whole load of these loans, wrapped them with some lower risk loans, and sell it to investment firms as a mortgage backed security that looks just like a bond.
