I think it's even simpler (and more sinister) than that. Basically, the bureaucracy is populated with people who have bought into socialism/statism, lock, stock, and barrel, and they are quietly, slowly (albeit not as slowly lately) implementing the socialist infrastructure.

Meanwhile, anyone who points it out is "paranoid" and "conspiracy-minded" -- and therefore, dismissed out of hand.

I've given up. I've resigned myself to the fact that I'll be living out my days in a socialist workers utopia. My only consolation is that I'm getting real close to 60, in very poor health, so I won't have to endure decades of this orwellian shit.

People don't know.

These programs have so many different aspects to them, they don't implement them all at the same time.

BINGO!!!Its called job security. Term Limts for elected representatives are the CURE
