Indeed. Preston Manning is a Canadian hero and an inspiration to me and many Canadian conservatives.

Hope y'all have a successful Conservative Election, CO

The Reform Party just wasn't ready for prime time. Ditto for the Canadian Alliance. I think Harper's stroke of genius was marrying the best of the new and the old together - the Reformers/CA with the Progressive Red Tories. All that hard work has paid off today.

In person, you warm to him immediately.
He makes a kind of deep contact with everyone he meets.
You can tell he's taking a second to size you up, which I think is a good trait.
I trust him.
:-D

I'm going to a friend's house to watch the results on his big screen. Besides, hearing Paul Martin cry in surround sound wasn't something I can pass up.
We're treating this like a SuperBowl party. I'm bringing the chili and Tostitos Scoops. My 17-year old brother, who misses the age requirement in this election by one month, will be bringing the egg rolls and plum sauce. I'm not sure who's bringing the sweet n' sour meat balls.
It's hard to indulge in Schadenfreude on an empty stomach.
And there will be plenty of booze on hand, to celebrate, or, on the outside chance that things go south for my beloved CPC, to drown our sorrows. But I'm sure it won't come to that.

WHY don't they have to show ID? My voting card notice stated that: 1) You MUST be a Canadian citizen, and 2) you must be 18 years or older.
That doesn't sound right to me.

fterall, knowledge is power and it was an American blogger who ultimately brought down the Martin government.Could you explain that a wee bit?

It appears that Quebec is moving ever closer to voting itself out of Confederation. This is one Canadian who won't mind at all. Quebec has cost the rest of Canada an OUTRAGEOUS amount of money and headaches.

Not sure what the context of this picture is, but I like it. I would like to think that the older gentleman who is seated is a veteran.
If so, wouldn't be be nice to find a picture of Liberal candidate Don Lindsay, the guy who told a Canadian WW2 vet move out of Canada to the US, as a "before" with this picture as the "after"?

What's sad is that when the Quebec separatists finally get their wish, they whine about that too.

It hadn't occurred to me before, but I wonder how many 'election house parties' there will be tonight.
Beer and Popcorn all across Canada.
LOL!
If we win, we should cover the roads in popcorn tomorrow!
