A "first strike" nuclear attack from America is justified
Doctrine for Joint Nuclear Operations
"Executing a nuclear option, or even a portion of an option, should send a clear signal of United States' resolve. Hence, options must be selected very carefully and deliberately so that the attack can help ensure the adversary recognizes the "signal" and should therefore not assume the United States has escalated to general nuclear war, although that perception cannot be guaranteed."
Nice to see you around again.

>U.S. policy is to never introduce nuclear weapons into a conflict.
This may be true. But I'm worried about israel using nukes. I hear they have nukes and if they use them Russia, China, Syria, Egypt and the rest of the ME will enter the conflict.
Another worl conflict, and for what?
The world is going insane.
They may be sitting ducks in some respects, but they did get some of the world's most advanced SAM missile defense systems from Russia recently.
NO DOUBT, they probably have them on target as we post!
I have no problem with America announcing to the world, the exact target coordinates in Iran, one hour prior to missile launch.
For obvious reasons, we would not want Russia, China or France to think that they are the target.
IMO Iran will get a "shot across the bow" in the form of a tactical nuke on a remote target..And then another if they fail to end their nuke program..The third will be a charm.
I'm going to be honest. If they made Democrats the way they used to, I'd probably be a Dem right now.
A Stealth bomber could be leaving Iranian airspace as I type..
I've heard that Iran's nuclear program is so far down the road that each aspect of production is multi-redundant.
You wouldn't? What would you call them?
In the first 24 hours after the start of Desert Storm in 1991, coalition air forces attacked more targets in Iraq than were attacked by the USAAF and RAF in all of 1942 and 1943 in Europe combined. The Iraqis were never able to act effectively in either the first Gulf War or the second. I don't think Iran is any better militarily.
100,000 Iranian and Syrian infantry swarming would be nice, actually. With superior air power, that would reduce Syrian and Iranian infantry by, oh, say - 100,000.
Isn't that a pretty lame/weird non-response to a solid Air Force vet who knows what he's talking about? He's put up HIS profile page for all to see; why haven't YOU????
Yeah. We should stop worrying about the UN and left and do what must be done. IF the world does not like it, they should go pound sand. We should not even report our actions to the media until AFTER such an assault is made. We cannot be alerting the enemy like this. But thanks to the UN and TREASON TIMES, the enemy always gets prepared.
Whoops, I see you're here now, forget the last part of my FRmail.
I know, and would not be surprised to see that as Breaking News on Free Republic any time now.
However, an ICBM launched from American soil, would be a much better lesson to the world.
