In the early seventies it was my good fortune to have been pretty close to the Nixon and Ford administrations, and I have pictures with both presidents taken in the Oval Office and in the State Dining Room. That and a couple of dollars will get me a cup of overpriced coffee. I had a brief appointment with the Nixon administration and exceptional access to the Ford Administration, but never gave a cent to either.
Presidents are in the business of seeing scores of people who are able to meet the stringient background check for admission into their presence. They are unable to personally investigate everyone who comes across their threshold.
A backward look at posts here on FR will reveal some really shady characters photographed with Bill and Hillary in the White House.

The administration admitted that Abramoff had attended several
gatherings with the President and that it was possible that they may have met, but that the President has no recollection of the meeting.
People, people, people...haul out all the photo you want of rats posing with criminals..it will make no difference....there is no history before Jan 20, 2001.....
The point is that the President gets photographed with hundred, even thousands of people. That is NOT proof of guilt.
The other point is the Dem hypocrisy.
Maybe you're thinking of Johnnie Chang or John Huang or...(take your pick)
