For some reason, and I don't have a clue why...but I think the GOP will do better in 2008...than in 2004.
I think 2006...will be close...but, probably stay in the GOP majority. Of course, if the dems do pick up seats...they will call it a victory for them...
I know one thing...we don't need "conservative" commentators like Fred Barnes, basically backing up the dems case of a "culture of corruption" by the GOP...yikes!

I remember the "elections" we had in school....and I was one of VERY few, that voted for Goldwater...
I didn't have a clue why...I was too young, but my parents were for Goldwater...and that was good enough for me!!

Delusions seem to be a common malady in that party. No one can tell me that fat Albert Gore isn't trying to position himself for another run.

"That MA continually elects Ted Kennedy as their senior senator mystfies me. What's that about? Is it the Kennedy name or are the MA citizens mainly left-wing?
Kerry's their junior senator. He's not a Kennedy so I'll conclude the MA majority of voters are left wing AND believe the Kennedy name lends class.
Some people in Massachusett have to have more brain cells than that!

Howie has had the number of the Kennedy, Kerry, and the rest of the Irish Mafia for a long time.
They have been and remain a criminal enterprise, and Howie loves exposing the jerks.
btw if anyone knows the whereabouts of Whitey Bulger please inform law enforcement immediately. ;-)

"...then if the GOP can find a DECENT candidate..."
It gets scary. Who can guarantee that Hillary will NOT win the presidency in 2008?
Can anyone convince those of us who fear this...that it will not happen?

"...GOP has a truckload of viable statesmenj..."
Right on the mark, as I also view potential GOP candidates.
We'll just have to wait and see what develops.

You're correct. Kerry came very close electorally. He won 251 electoral votes and 59 million popular votes, the second highest total of any Presidential candidate in history and more than 8 million votes than Gore received in 2000. The biggest surprise to me is how close he came against an incumbent, wartime President during good economic times.

they would all be barely holding down a custodial position some where? Our guys are usually pretty accomplished people who came to politics from another profession. The democrats are career politicians who would be the janitors.
Our guys include HOF pitcher Jim Bunning, Frist was a practicing surgeon, Colburn was a physician too.
