I'm definetly not a Bush hater but I just think he's underachieved in certain areas.
"If we ever forget that we're one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under."
Ronald Reagan
I learned something from past readings of historical presidents. A great president only focuses on 3-4 major issues throughtout his presidency, whether one or two terms. Any more than that, he's ineffective acheicing any success in any area. Reagan's focus was communism. Bush's focus is terrorism. Clinton was all over the map, GHWB had no focus, etc.
Bush is a good man, but not in the same league.
I got an answer for that, but I'll save it for a more appropriate thread.
I had hopes in the beginning that Bush could equal Reagan eventually. But I gave that up when he wouldn't let go of the illegal alien guest worker agenda. It's too bad - he started out really strong.
I'm not either, but GWB has been so incredibly appeasement minded toward the Dims & so pro BIG government & runaway spending on domestic issues & programs over the past 5 years, it is pathetic. I am afraid that GWB & the Repub party have clearly forfeited the moral high ground they once had, let alone the momentum he could have had from both of his presidential election victories.... especially 2004.
Who do you think he should shoot first?

Could it be maybe that we are fighting a war on terror? Just maybe perhaps this President is fighting too with the entrenched Left in his own nation? Even in his own party?
Sure Bush has compromised...Reagan did too. I'm sure you know why. Even with a majority...there are turncoats...those who will not vote for ANWR for example. Those who will not vote for educational reform unless lots of the junk in it is approved by Teddy...ad nauseum. He doesn't control what the Supreme Court rules...on eminent domain or on infanticide.
