A woman got a 30-day jail sentence for leaving her three young children home alone for several hours while she and her boyfriend attended a videotaping of "The Jerry Springer Show."
Shannon Cook, 25, pleaded guilty earlier this week to misdemeanor child endangerment. She also was placed on probation for a year.
The two girls and one boy, all under the age of 4, have been placed in foster homes...
Police said Cook left the children alone at a suburban home Oct. 19 while she and her boyfriend went to Chicago for the taping.
About five hours later, the two oldest knocked on the door of a neighbor, who called police.
Cook was arrested when she returned home after midnight.
She said: "I didn't think I'd be gone that long."

"Whiskey Tango" alert possibly ?
Hey priorities man. Ya gotta have priorities and I mean how many times ya get a chance to be on Springer, hell with the kids for a while they can fend for themselves.
And ya can always have more kids, but like I say how many times ya get a chance to be on Springer? Priorities.
Boy, there's a shocker!
She has been busy.
Three kids in less than four years.
The article did not say what , or if, she had a job.
Odds are than anyone who would go to that show does not have the makings of a good parent.
Thank goodness for the Internet. Now the kids will be able to grow up and Google their mother and see what a scumbag she was!
Leaving 3 little children alone to be in Jerry Springer SHow. The irony is just so thick.
Wait until those kids are older and get on the SPringer show with the mom.
The article did not say if this boyfriend is the father of any of the kids.
Or if she knew the father or fathers of her three kids.
I suppose now she will say that she only went to the Jerry Springer show so she could pick up some new parenting tips!
"...The article did not say what, or if, she had a job.."
Of course she did.
Making babies!
Wow, the 90's are back!
Bet you she had each kid with different fathers, unmarried.
I can say with an almost 99.99% chance of certainty that we taxpayers were already paying for them. Now, we still are, but someone may at least be contributing something to their care.
It's a small win, but it's still a win.
Yeah, but it was a double wide so the kids had lots of room to play.
She likely got a check from the taxpayers for each kid plus food stamps plus...
With the kids gone to the state, she better start making more babies.
