John Kerry -- POLITICS: The election may have ended more than a year ago, but someone forgot to tell John Kerry. Michael Crowley talks to the Democrats who wish he'd just go away
...There was just one problem: John Kerry.
Without checking with his partys leaders, Kerry scheduled his own response to Bush, which was to take place at 11 A.M., precisely the time that Reed was scheduled to respond. In Senate strategy meetings, mild panic ensued. ...Rather than make way for Reed, though, Kerry agreed to appear with him at a joint press event. Plenty of Democrats predicted what came next: Kerry was droney and repetitive, ...
The bitter clincher came on that nights Daily Show.... Cut to a shot of Kerry stammering, then back to Stewart. Kerry? You went with Kerry?
After more footage of Kerry rambling incomprehensibly, Stewart stared at the camera and screamed, No one understands you! The next day, a link to the clip bounced among the e-mail accounts of angry Senate Democratic staffers.
... But Kerrywho Democrats almost unanimously say is keenly interested in running for president again in 2008keeps reminding people of the bad old days...
...Joe Lockhart, Bill Clintons former press secretary and a senior adviser to Kerry last year (and who, like so many top advisers, had a strained relationship with Kerry during the campaign), adds, He talks like hes still running. I dont mean hes keeping his options open but that he has every intention of still running.
...But whats arguably more bizarre is how obvious it is that the guy Democrats chose to lead them to the promised land is no longer a member of his partys A-team.... ...

"You don't value families if you force them to take up a collection to buy body armor for a son or daughter in the service, if you deny veterans health care, or if you tell middle class families to wait for a tax cut, so that the wealthiest among us can get even more." -- Transcript of John Kerry 2004 acceptance speech, http://www.postgazette.com/pg/04212/354246.stm
He brought up this body armor issue again in defense of his reprehensible remarks two days ago, despite the fact that he'd voted against paying for body armor before he made the speech in 2004! Either he's stupid, or he thinks listeners are stupid, and judging from the October 30 gaffe, it's likely that it's both. And let's not forget...

The product of a misguided youth, steeped in liberal expression and ideology. He thinks he is still living in the sixtees. And at the same time is a useless bum earning an over inflated salary. Hey! Save the dolphins.
"I botched the joke"
You botched your aspirations.
He probably thinks that Tay-Ray-Sa's money will buy the nomination for him.
What a loser!
IIRC, he filed a very limited release of just the stuff he wanted out there, and then only released it to some of his paid scribes at the Boston Globe.
He was already toast.
...Too bad the Dems figured it out before they nominated him again.
I'm not sure we want to tell the slimy surrender side what's good for them.
I say: run Kerry run! Go boy!
No doubt this was his "Muskie Moment".
We can hope, certainly.
