EU states warned to accept same-sex marriage
Catholic World News ^ | 1/19/06

The justice minister of the European Union, Franco Frattini, announced this week at the EU parliament in Strasburg that member states which do not eliminate all forms of discrimination against homosexuals, including the refusal to approve “marriage” and unions between same-sex couples, would be subject to sanctions and eventual expulsion from the EU.

According to a report by the Archdioceses of Madrid’s news service Analisis Digital, the commissioner’s statements came as the governments of Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and Poland ruled against legalizing homosexual “marriage.”

“Homophobia is a violation of human rights and we are watching member states on this issue and reporting on cases in which our efforts have been unsuccessful,” Fratti said. In this way “the Commission and the European Parliament seek to make any refusal to grant homosexual couples the same rights as a married couple a crime of ‘homophobia’,” the report warned.

Frattini-- who was elected EU commissioner after the EU parliament rejected the nomination of the Catholic intellectual Rocco Buttiglione because of his opposition to homosexual unions-- has proposed “designating 2007 as the year of Equal Opportunity. The objectives would be to inform the public about their rights, promote diversity and, as a value of the Union, make this goal a priority.”

Some EU parliamentarians demanded specific sanctions against states that do not follow the anti-discrimination law and refuse to call homosexual unions “marriage,” for example. Michael Cashman, President of the European Parliament’s Intergroup on Gay and Lesbian Rights, proposed expulsion from of the EU of those countries that “do not adhere to anti-discrimination legislation.”

“If we do nothing we are accomplices in the crimes of violence that we see occurring in many member states,” said Cashman, who is also vice president of the organization Gay & Lesbian Humanists. The organization’s website says it is at war with “Catholic-inspired homophobia.”

Nevertheless, reports Analisis Digital, these proposals have been contested by Polish EU representative Jan Tadeusz Masiel, who called the adoption of children by homosexual couples “repulsive” and “shocking.” Likewise, her fellow Polish EU representative, Barbara Kurdycka, said the EU Parliament had no business telling people what they should think about homosexuality.

Oh and the homosexualization of Poland will lie on the shoulders of men like you. When God asks you what you did to defend your land from homosexuality and the culture of death, you will answer that you sold it out for silver from your atheist masters in Brussels. How do you think the Almighty will look upon you then?

Actually he doesnt ask that at all. He says "When I was hungry, you fed me not, and thirsty, and neither gave me drink, etc". Youre either saved or not. No grey areas. No dissertations. No excuses.

Those who deny Christ do not get in (Muslims, Buddhists, Jews, Hindus) unless they "pick up their cross and follow Him".

If rumors are to be believed, Hitler was homo-friendly. He had no organized plan against homosexuals as a group. Those that were in the concentration camps were there because of their Nazi opposition, whether from a Communist point of view or otherwise. The pink triangles served to mock the homosexuals to the other prisoners.

Shouldn't be necessary. This is bluster form self-important bureacrats in Brussels. It's not just Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and Poland, but Italy, Austria and Greece as well.

And the next round of admissions, almost all of which are Orthodox countries, might as well be called off if they persist in this.

Don't worry, I'm against gay marriages and abortion. I just don't believe brainless scare stories about Europe. Frattini would have to expel France for a start and then half of all EU countries. I was not for annexation of my country into Netherlands, but for joining the biggest market on this planet and be a part of a democratic confederation of Europe's nations.

Well enjoy your 300+ page UnConstitution that is still being pushed forward, your gay rights and your open borders for Islamic immigration and all the abortions your women can take.

USA has three times more abortions than EU, dr. Kevorkian was an American not European and gay rights came to us from San Francisco, not Brussels.

And the 300 hundred page constitution is not a constitution as you have observed.

And the common border policy actually prevents illegal immigration.

Kevorkian is in jail, Brussels made euthinasia into law. Gay rights are not the law and communities can still ban their parades, Brussels tells you YOU WILL HAVE IT. As for abortions, Bush, whom you accused of lieing when speaking with Putin, has pushed to put curbs on it, while the EU told you to allow them, period.

And the 300 hundred page constitution is not a constitution as you have observed.

Only because it is a BS document but that is the purpose it was supposed to and will still serve: a constitution.

Brussels didn't make euthanasia into law and never will. Exactly the same situation with gay marriages. Some countries will have it, some not. Full democracy.

Brussels tells you YOU WILL HAVE IT

Of course not. Brussels have no right to tell us anything that we haven't agreed upon beforehand.

As for abortions, Bush has pushed to put curbs on it, while the EU told you to allow them, period.

Well, we'll see if he can overthrow Roe vs. Wade. I doubt it. And concernig abortion law most of EU coutries have stricter rules than USA. And of course Brussels can tell us nothing. You are ill-informed jb6:))

Muslims in Italy: 1,5%, in UK 3%, Germany 4,5%. That's what you call flooded? Hispanics in USA 13%. And remember Europe borders with muslim countries, USA doesn't.

Hispanics in USA 13%.

While I'm against illegal immigration, Hispanics are christians, mostly Catholics. They aren't trying to turn America into Arabia. 1 in 3 babies born in France are Islamic, do the math. In 20 years, 1 in 3 adults are islamic. In 40 years 60% are islamic. True, at the moment only 5% of the EU is Muslim, but soon you'll be brothers with the Turks and the gates that are half open now will flood in. Furthermore, those muslims already there are out breeding the rest of you at 3 or 4 times the rate of EU member states.

I hope you're young enough to live long enough to enjoy the FRUITS of what you gave Poland into.

When the mooselimbs finish overrunning this bunch of butt buddies, then they can find out what tolerance is all about. As for the EU, bye-bye.

Are there really that many fags that powerful in Europe?

So you do hope that Poland will turn Muslim? I could have suspected that.

But you will be disappointed. Sooner America will stop speaking English.

It only shows that neither you nor the authors of this news know nothing about the functioning of EU.

I have already told you. Only 3 in 25 coutries of EU accept gay marriages. A few other countries accept civil unions with limited rights (without the right to adopt children). Among them France. How do you think is Frattini going to force Chirac to accept gay marriages?
