IMHO anyone who bets long term against the American economy has made a dumb bet.

Having said that I think there is some pressure on the USA dollar and possibly on interest rates.

The EU seem to want oil traded in Euros but I don't see that idea catching on anytime soon.

Canada has been a good hedge for protection from a falling US dollar and investments in rising commodities.

(1) Last week, the Washington Times reported that the U.S. Air Force dispatched additional warplanes to the Middle East .

(2) A wing of F-16s from an Air National Guard unit from Indiana left for a base in southwest Asia last Tuesday..about 72 aircraft and several hundred support personnel.

(3) A military spokesman said the deployment was part of a normal rotation and is not related to Iran's uranium reprocessing.
