PATAKI PREZ BID A FIA$CO (RINO's fund-raising flops)
NY POST ^ | 1/20/06 | AP

Fund-raising for the political-action committee used by Gov. Pataki to raise his national profile has nose-dived since he announced in July that he would not seek a fourth term in New York.

............in the last three months of 2005, Pataki's 21st Century Freedom State PAC raised just $107,147. It raised $636,901 in the first three months of the year. In the first six months of last year, the PAC collected almost $1.1 million. In the final six months, $384,397 was raised.

Pataki........traveled to Iowa and New Hampshire, the traditional early battleground states for the presidential nomination.

Pataki, the de facto head of the NY GOP, should get the blame for NY state GOP's collapse. Routinely absent from his office, and a self-created lame-duck with slipping powers, Pataki's apparent dream of national office strikes even some closest to him as delusional. Pataki's negatives list is a mile long. Now, let's recount the reasons why Pataki's candidacy is a loser:

Back in 2/17/05 the headline read "Political Donations Pour Through Gap in New York Laws" (party paid for Pataki personal maid). The increasing use of party housekeeping committees was highlighted this year by the disclosure that the state Republican Party's housekeeping committee pays the salary of a full-time assistant for the state's first lady, Libby Pataki.

Snort----Republican donors never figured their bucks would subsidize a maid for the gov's wife.

Then news reports said Pataki's wife begged politcoes to buy her new kid's book claiming "The Pataki's needed the money" even though it's been reported elsewhere that Mrs. Pataki was paid more than $339,000 in 2003.....for her work "as a vaguely defined consultant to businesses and charities." Most of her "clients" are linked to friends and political supporters of Gov Pataki, and some of those friends also have interests before the state.

The Village Voice and The New York Times have reported extensively on the Patakis’ main source of wealth, the good will of an old college friend, Richard Hayden. Hayden arranged an ---ahem---consulting job for Mrs. Pataki with a family medical-devices business and has involved her as a partner in lucrative land deals. As if the word does not get around that the governor's wife is involved in land deals.....All those hard-to-get EPA and county and municipal planning board approvals better come through....or else.

Guess that's how the Patakis managed to build a huge house in Garrison when he was a lowly local legislator making a nothing salary.

Oh, not to forget----both the Patakis are abortion worshippers.

And let's please not forget that Libby Patatki---the one with the maid----is also doing the insider deals for the gov. Libby's lobbying and being in on land deals as a token partner when she knows nothing about the business, is a little nauseating.

She's obviously included b/c her husband is governor. Pataki's got his wife hustling for the day when he leaves office and becomes a nobody. At least the Pataki's can live in the lap of luxury while Pataki ponders how being a pro-abortion RINO short-circuited his laughable ambition to be president.

Somebody should play "The Kings new suit of clothes" with this dope and explain to him that he can call for an electric chair in every county in New York and cut state tax to zero and he still won't break 55 in New Hampshire. Who ever is his consultant is stealing the poor sap's money.

Looks like this warped RINO has the same political consultant as Rudy:

"Oh yeah, Rudy, your smile is much more presidential that Hillary's."

All this anectdotal information is interesting, but one only needs to look at the statewide decline of the GOP in NY as a party during Pataki's time in Albany. You cannot lead a party when you cannot build a party.

I am sure that Pataki's dreams of national political ambitions are just dreams.

He has been a poor executive, but he likes to make speeches. He really should have considered running for Senator against Hillary himself, instead of prompting Pirro to step in to a race with challenges for which she was unprepared.
