That is they way they have successfully worked as an Agency for decades, now NYT is trying to destroy them along with Bush.

And more. It is not the President who is trying to destroy our way of life.

During the 60's, many people connected to the Quakers and other organizations were not friends of this country.

Different time, different war, different culture, AND boys went to war based on a draft. Didn't the Quakers put themselves up as conscientious objectors? No such thing exists today - everyone volunteers to go into the military and if they are doing it just to get a college education they are making a huge mistake.

Yes. The group has always objected to anything military. One of my best friends growing up was a member of a Quaker family. During Viet Nam, they became active in helping just flat out draft dodgers. Beyond that, I think they mostly served as useful idiots.

How's the Conyers' basement media bash?

It was funny, by and large. One of them pretty much realized they didn't have a whole lot other than to convince the public that the President had done something wrong. The disturbing thing was see Turley there at all and then to see him salivating over impeaching the President. Turley no longer has any credibility to my mind.

Wow! Turley? And here I thought that he was one of the better ones.

BTW, the Euros are all up in arms about Jacques Chirac (finally) because he made a statement that he'd consider using nuclear weapons against terrorists. LOL!

Here's my favorite quote

"Jacques Chirac is an idiot," chided Belgian daily De Morgen in an editorial. "He lives in a time where France is no longer a world power, but he's still acting as if prolonging a Napoleonic dynasty."

"He lives in a time where France is no longer a world power, but he's still acting as if prolonging a Napoleonic dynasty."

You do not have to be a world power to indicate you will lob some nukes in the direction of anyone who attacks you, assuming you've got them, and France has them.

LOL! You are right again, but I still love that quote :-)

All of his efforts in the EU, UN, the annual invasions of Africa and the dirty deals point to a country that is looking to reestablish French empire and get those colonial payments in.

In fact I would argue that the US making payments to other countries is reverse imperialism-- the US is enabling the recipients to treat the US like their colony.

:-) LOL! Thanks! But for the rest of the day, short attention span theater rules.

Today has been a little dreary as I lost an important document (D'oh!) and it's more effort to call it back than to recreate it :-(

Oh my. I have elected to go the document recreation route myself when it was just the lesser of the two evils.

Oh, but they say that Bush and "cabal" hauled out OBL today on purpose to distract from Gore's speech!
Ohhh....it doesn't get any better than that!

I know, I've seen him on CNN alot. BTW, I read on DUmp that CNN will be carrying it along with ABC radio. They'll look like asses doing this after the Osama tape today.

It's boring enough on TV. It has to be 10 times as boring on radio.

These hearings Conyers holds are so small, irrelevant, and insignificant enough to be held in a broom closet.

"Representative Conyers? C'mon....get out of the closet.... NOW!"

I just got back and didn't get to see all of the fake hearings today. But I turned on Special Report with Brit Hume and heard Nadler compare Bush to Hilter in some way. Anyone have a transcript of this?

Please forgive me if I didn't the the quotes 100% right.

As I read it the President would have the power to hire a hitman and kill anyone in this room if he ............. - Jerrold Nadler

The power that the President claims he has, If he was in Germany in 1933 he would not require the enabling act to pass the Reichstag act to claim the power to claim the power. He is claiming absolute power................ - Jerrold Nadler

The second one is as close as you can come to calling someone a Nazi without calling them one.

Fox News played the segment where Nadler made his comment about Nazi Germany.

I just transcribed part of Nadler's statements. I didn't do a very good job though. If you go to C-Span he says this about 1:19:00 into the bogus hearings.
