In combination with those 17 or so RINO Republicans who felt the same way about the bill as the democrats and some who preferred to keep it a felony it was enough to sink the attempt by Sensenbrenner to strike the provision. It doesn't matter because it will never make it in the final version just like any scam guest worker/amnesty attempt won't.
I was counting votes on the other side.
It is of little consequece because it is still a Republican bill that would convert 20 million illegals into felons.
