What about the people that actually created the chaos afterwards?

And what about the people that conditioned the people who created the chaos, to believe that Government exists to solve every one of their problems, no matter the magnitiude?

Not everyone acts like an animal after a storm has hit.

Asked about Brown's switch, Blanco said "I'm glad that Mike Brown finally set the record straight."

Doesn't matter. You're still the Governor of LA and YOU, not FEMA, should have followed your own evacuation plans. So, maybe you are sighing in relief that someone else is taking the blame but you, with Mayor Nagin, are still to blame, Madam Governor, regardless!

"Gov. Kathleen Blanco said Thursday she was pleased to hear ex-FEMA chief Michael Brown has accepted some blame for the chaos following Hurricane Katrina."

"God knows it helps take the heat off Nagin and I, where most of the blame belongs!"

"the federal agency to supply military help"

Okay, now I'm really confused. Is it FEMA that sends in the national guard or the damn Governor and the President?

Judge wants Orleans election dates set by Tuesday
The Times Picayune [New Orleans, LA] / nola.com ^ | January 18, 2006 | Cain Burdeau [AP]

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Louisiana's top election official assured a federal judge Wednesday that hurricane-delayed elections can be held in New Orleans by late April, and the judge gave the state a week to set the dates.

U.S. District Judge Ivan Lemelle stopped short of saying he would order elections himself if the state fails to do so by Tuesday, but said he would take steps to make sure voters here are not disenfranchised. "I feel like a bull in a China closet if you throw the elections in my hands," Lemelle told attorneys.

Lemelle scheduled a status conference on the case for next Wednesday.

If she had of done that she wouldn't have had the money to be able to do this.

I can't stand Blanco.

Blanco rejected the help from florida national guard.

Blanco didn't evacuate.

You can't send in federal troops when their is a law enforcement situation.

She was lying running around screaming about all the violence but wouldn't let federal troops come in.

Blanco refused red cross aid to the convention center.

Blanco blocked federal troops from having law enforcement power in her state.

I can't stand that fool.

Obviously Brown never read up on the political history of Louisiana. He was indeed naive and unprepared for the aftermath of lazy corrupt politicians and and a loud portion of the population.

I was initially kind of embarassed when the emails between Brown and his staffer were released discussing his fashion sense and choice of clothing; however, when the left stooped so low as to slime Mrs. Alito's clothing at the confirmation hearings, I had to reconsider. Given the left's proclivities for personal smear and character assassination, I think it is (unfortunate, but) necessary that a FEMA director does have to take into consideration how he's going to dress, and those e-mails were probably a lot more relevant to Brown's mission accomplishment than they may at first appear.

Brown apologized that he didn't realize how miserably the state and local authorities would perform.
