I speak English (although I do speak fluent Spanish as well) and comprehend every word you posted. What you are not comprehending is the fact that children of illegals born in the U.S. are American CITIZENS and that we should not be tearing apart such families. As for "OBL-speak" I don't think I've ever heard of the United States Constitution, 14th Amendment specifically, referred to as "OBL-speak" - next argument?
let's make one thing clear here - we're not tearing any family apart - the illegal behavior of the parents is. If they had immigrated legally, or stayed in their beloved Mexico and made a life for themselves there, this problem would not exist.
See, that "Anchor-baby" provision is because of a deliberate misinterperetation of the law as written.
Illegals that are Illegally in the US are not under US Law, as they are not here legally. Therefore any children they have are not US Citizens.
But even if that still continues, my answer is so frickin what?!
Send the parents back...let the kid either go with them, or be adopted here...but the ILLEGALS must go!
No exceptions!
Too harsh? Tough. The parents never should have been here to put the kid in that situation!
Why not? When a guy robs a bank, we throw him in jail even though it separates him from his children. Illegal alien parents choose to invade our borders illegally. Nobody holds a gun to their heads. Every time they hire a smuggler, overstay a visa, or sneak past a border patrol agent, they know they are breaking our laws. When they go ahead and drop an anchor baby after they're here, they are (or should be) taking their chances that they and their kid will be booted back to their country of origin.
It's unfortunate, but children have always to suffer when their parents commit a crime. Maybe the invaders wouldn't be so quick to have anchor babies if they really thought they were in danger of being deported. They've gotten brazen and arrogant because they don't think we will enforce our laws.
