It set the scene for an absolutely STELLAR DAY - a rare one that has overflowed with blessings from dawn to now!
First, my medical appointment in Aiken wasn't until 1:30, so I was able to sleep until 8:15 and didn't have to hurry.
Although the night was cold, it warmed rapidly into the 60's (and will be in the 70's again the next 2 days).
Reaching Aiken, there was planted 4 years ago on a major roadway a row of flowering trees, with lavender blossoms already that signal winter is waning and SPRING HAS BEGUN!!
Beautiful weather - flowering trees - light traffic - and a most satisfying visit with one of my physicians, giving me a Progress Report. All three of them are fantastic, and today this one listened to and understood two important things I needed to convey...one prevented possible disaster, since they were about to start me on a new Rx that was tried on me 4 years ago with disastrous side effects, putting me down for 5 weeks.
Since the reason for it was marginal anyway, he examined me carefully (heart, neck arteries, etc.) and opted to cancel it, recording the past bad experience as his justification. The treatment would have been far worse than any possible benefit for the condition - shown to be minimal on an ultrasound in November.
We ate lunch out, and reaching home received a letter from my sister Anne (in the Assisted Living Facility), full of thanks for The Surprise Birthday Visit we had sprung on her, and for us.
Oh, those loving ties that bind!! The memories and laughter and joy we share is immeasureable. She's a gifted artist, and it was full of little illustrations.
Even making a brief shopping foray here late in the afternoon, there were up front parking spaces at 2 stores, and at Wal-Mart I found somethimg that was precisely what I was looking for. On the computer chair, I have had for years a once comfy extra cushion that now is rock hard and *not* conducive to comfort.
Thinking I could at the very least get new foam and cover that, I decided memory foam might be best.
Right at the first of the row of pillows was a just the right size, black covered square memory foam cushion with a white-edged zippered cover - when open and unfolded, it even becomes a throw!!
Another Win-Win on a whole day of special things!
Gosh....so slow today....need to head to bed...major meeting tomorrow.... But dusting off my red dress for tomorrow :o)
Sweet dreams sweetie! Just was over to the Dose.. they have about 1/3 the normal amount of posts.. something special on TV? see you tomorrow

nice job Ma'am!
with your new computer how much memory do you have? when I had the 256 I simply could not do much.. with a gig it is an amazing difference.
These Dem ("dim") politicians are clearly out of touch with America's hardworking citizens and deeply indebted to their unions and special interests--so much so that they will make fools of themselves to please their Radical Left handlers.
As I wrote on another thread concerning the likes of Kennedy, Biden, Leahy, et al:
"The Democrats still haven't figured out that the basic common sense of Americans out there in non-Hollywood, non-northeastern liberal, non-ACLU/NEA/People for the American Way/NOW world enables the ordinary citizen to understand the stakes in this war, and they believe we elect a President to protect us from terrorists.
In the Hollywood/Liberal/ACLU/NEA/PAW/NOW world, a President is merely a puppet on their string (like Clinton), not the Founders' vision of a constitutionally empowered Executive who provides leadership during times of crisis and doesn't consult their so-called "polls" to decide on his next move.
That American citizens understand what 9/11 meant, that we were attacked and are at war, and that such a non-traditional (nation against nation) war requires non-conventional strategies may come as a surprise to Democrats. It may also surprise them that when they named the screaming Dean to be their Party's logo, they lost whatever credibility the Party once had with ordinary Americans.
It was cute as can be. :)

GOOD GRIEF! I kept getting an "internal error" when I hit post. I CHECKED FR to see if it DID post before I "sent" again - only to get the same internal error AGAIN! I see yours did, too, Maggie!
"I posted your "cup of joy" over at ATRW. I recall that song when it came out.. I think it was 1970(or pretty close to it).. so silly & so much fun."
It was around 1971, Dolly, when my sons were teenagers, and played endlessly - probably why it delighted me so!
The house we rented then had a screened in & over large swimming pool with cabana right off the living room, and there were many gatherings of kids...they had so much fun dancing to it..:))
On weekends, there were always 5-6 teenage boys spending the weekend, with Mommo's Rules Strictly Followed.
The dining and living rooms were carpeted, and they sprawled out there, and were to bring their own sheets, pillows, blankets and TOWELS - and take them HOME to launder!!
I was at work every other Saturday, but they were all well behaved. They had to help the boys CLEAN THE POOL in order to keep coming back. (slave labor!)
IF they cooked, they ate, and had to do all their dishes.
They were allowed to stay up as late as they liked so long as they did not disturb The Parents (we had another tv in our bedroom) and/or the neighbors.
In Melbourne then was a radio station with a DJ you could call on air, and they often did. Sensing these boys were bright and polite, he several times invited then to go down there at 1 a.m. and be on air with them!
We gave permission, of course, and they had a great time.
It always puzzled me how the parents of the other boys were so happy to have their sons away from them, not wanting "noise."
WE wanted to know where ours were, and what they were doing!!
Thank you! A bit late in replying as my next post after my flowers fouled up and I broke FR! ;)
Thank you..I loved the cup of joy video! I saved it for a wake me up in the morning.
