Laura Bush on Hillary's plantation remark: 'I think it's ridiculous. It's a ridiculous comment'...

Laura on Nagin's remarks: 'I don't think I can really speak for God, I'm not really sure. On the other hand I think he wants New Orleans to be rebuilt; he wants people who lived in New Orleans before to come back and I do too'... Developing...

This is pretty outspoken for Laura, but OTOH she has recently made it VERY clear she supports Condi in a run for the POTUS.

She should have called it 'hateful' as well as 'ridiculous'.

Yea but on the other hand Condi said AGAIN she will not run. I'm sure Condi is flattered but I don't think she wants to run.

She had met with Lord Hildemort in the past and the official line is that they both liked each other.

The difference is that we respect First Lady Laura Bush.

Can you blame her? Look at what you have to go through to be president of this country. She's been close enough to see what President Bush has had to go through, why do it?

Laura Bush articulates it perfectly.

She didn't say she was outraged. She didn't say it was a horrible thing to say.

She relegates it to where it belongs, in the ridiculous category.

Simply ridiculous. Simply.

I love the Pollyannish attitude of this White House. (sarcasm dripping)

Why cannot Republicans call things what they are? If they ever want to win support from blacks, they need to speak candidly, with honesty, candor and no BS. Why not call a kook a kook? Both barrels should have been unloaded on Nagin, Hillary, Gore and Dean, heck why not a full clip? They should be on every tv program, backtracking and doing damage control. This attitude that being right, is the only revenge, is not the way of this world. Republicans will always be powerless, as long as they allow lies to remain part of the public discourse, and liars to continue pushing their agendas.

I totally agree. She's sees first hand what Bush has to go thru. I don't think she wants to do that.

A person that KNOWS they are right, prospers under the fire from idiots. IF Bush had the righteous indignation that comes with being self assured in ones positions, he or Condi would absolutely love to sling dung with the Rathers and Michael Moores in this country. Reagan got stronger with criticism, he looked into himself, and rethought positions, and came to the same conclusion...HE was right, THEY were wrong, and he told them so.

"Laura Bush on Hillary's plantation remark: 'I think it's ridiculous. It's a ridiculous comment'..."

"Ridiculous" is a naive assessment. Hillary's (plantation) remark illustrates Hillary's sociopathological thinking process, her calculated pandering mania, and the fact Hillary's speech style becomes more and more like a screeching Hitler. Let Hillary speak on! She is her own worse enemy. Just keep playing Hillary's speech bytes!
The world will cringe...

"I don't think she (Condi) wants to run"

I agree. I've heard her say candidly that you have to have it burning in your belly to take on that challenge - and it just isn't there for her.

I think she prefers the behind the scenes type of negotiating - and I sometimes get the sense that she's uncomfortable having to be out front so much more in her new position.

And .. personally .. the state the world is in - we don't need a negotiator for President - we need a person just like GW - determined and committed to America.

Laura doesn't have quite the vocabulary Hillary does. That's why she's classy.

That fact that these Dems are saying these things on the same day...under the same diguise (in the name of Martin Luther King) will hopefully show some of the loyal Dems, both black and white, what Hillary and Nagin are all about.

Both statements were ridiculous and I can only view them as "anti-white".....And the call for Power and Money as the solution...what we call communism or socialism.

Apparently, Hillary wants to be the first black woman president.

And Nagin believes in segregation.

Sen. Clinton is absolutely correct - this administration IS the worst in history: we have troops immersed in an unwinnable war we never should have entered (and were lied to going in), soldiers dying for lack of the right protective gear, the largest deficit in our history, the largest trade deficit in our history, we ignore all the science and joke about global warming, and the genius behind it all takes his marching orders from Bob Jones and Pat Robertson. No previous administration even comes close to the blundering incompetence in the White House! It would be comical if the results were not so dire for our great nation.

"Yea but on the other hand Condi said AGAIN she will not run. I'm sure Condi is flattered but I don't think she wants to run."

Yeah, Hillary should get really paranoic and feel threatened when she is compared to Condi who is so far superior to Hillary that there is no measurement large enough to describe the difference between them. Even Diane Feinstein is a better choice for a Dem-Fem candidate than Hillary Clinton. I expect Hillary to shrink into a snarling rodent before her re-election campaign...and that's a good thing.

Hillary was a Black Panther sympathizer; Condi Rice never was.

Where are all of those people who condemmed Pat Robertson for his remarks about Sharon? Shouldn't they be just as outraged about Nagin's comments about God's wrath on New Orleans?

Hey! ; ) You taken my name in vain?

That said—and in the spirit of my nic...there is more than one way to dispel lies. And that way is often actions. Words mean little, but actions mean a lot.

In the case of Bushes vs. Clintons, history will decide.
