So I take it that Ophelia is from what you once described as the "G.K. Butterfield Vitiligo Wing of the Congressional Black Caucus." Please post a picture to see just how dark-skinned this "black" politician really is.

Is the district really 85% black? And the GOP ran a white guy who got around 50%? Had we run a black guy against Ophelia, we probably would have won with over 60%.

I work at City Hall in Memphis and at one time or another, I've seen most of the Fords. And I can honestly say that I am less pigment challenged than most of them. The exceptions to that are Joe, Emmitt, and Edmund. Harold (Sr. and Jr.) and the illustrious John look like ghosts.

If you have seen how light skinned US Rep. Harold Ford Jr. is (Ophelia's nephew) then you know that the Fords African American claim is thin. I would bet that they have much more European linage than African.

Forgive this tiny photo, it's the only one that begins to show how Caucasian she really is (BTW, the dirty little secret in the family is that Big Momma Ford is White -- in fact, the "fairest Ford", one of the brothers who moved to California and is not in politics, though is a registered Republican, supposedly has "White" listed on his driver's license as race). Some other pics I've seen of Ophelia, it looks like they "darken" her (a la O.J. and the infamous "Time Magazine" cover). Trust me, she's Whiter than I am, and I'm about as pasty White as they come.

Also, I'm still unsure what the racial demographics of the district are. During that incendiary press conference, she was just pulling things right out of her ass.

The district is mostly black. Terry Roland is white, a business man from a small town in the county, Millington. He's well liked by everyone in the area black and white alike. She only won by 13 votes. In Memphis the dead, felons and double voting occur every election.
