There is a great roundup of links to stories, pictures, video, and reaction to Hillarys MLK Day statement that the GOP House of Representatives is run like a plantation at Michelle Malkin.com. According to the NYT, she suggested that things had changed in recent years with the Republicans in control of the White House and Congress.
Hmmmm. President Bush appointed Condi Rice, Colin Powell and Rod Paige (respectively) as the first black National Security Advisor, Secretary of State and Secretary of Education. I guess that pales in comparison to the great strides blacks made under her husband. After all, the man hailed as the first black president, Bill Clinton, appointed Betty Currie, his personal secretary, and Vernon Jordan, his very influential friend, as the first black well, he used them to attempt to clean up his messy little intern problem. And Hillary has the nerve to talk about plantations. She says she compared the House to a plantation because no dissenting opinion is allowed, but she made the comment on MLK Day in a speech about progress in America for blacks. Yeah. I am sure she never meant to imply that Republicans were modern day slave owners or anything like that.
Update: A Polipundit reader reminded me that Bill Clinton also appointed the Rev. Jesse Jackson as his spiritual advisor to help him through his intern troubles.
slime-clinton has no class, she never has had class and she never will....
Any woman, or man that would vote for an idiot like this needs their heads fixed....
To trust our National Security and well being of the United States of America to a scum bag like this is absolutely frightening....
With her "plantation" rhetoric on the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, Hillary Clinton appealed to the same kind of racially motivated division that segregationists used 40 years ago. Clinton's is politics at its lowest form.
Blacks are slowly, but surely, moving away from the Democratic Party and toward the Republican Party or Independent status. This has the Rats absolutely terrified, and they're pulling out all of the stops in an attempt to reverse the trend. I remain firmly convinced that most of the hoopla surrounding Katrina/New Orleans was a concerted effort by the Rats to get their vote-slaves back onto the plantation.
Please FReepmail me if you would like to be added to, or removed from, the Michelle Malkin ping list...
She is hot; she puts steam in this old man's stride.
Yes, I agree- she and Coulter are steaming chicks.
If the House is a plantation, then why can't we issue the whip team actual bullwhips?
And some would say he had Ron Brown killed.
I was certainly surprised to see the media letting us see the true hillary. Not often do we hear her hate filled and out of control screeching speeches?.
I just can't figure out why anyone would want these 2 back in the White House. Don't they remember what they did to it on their way out, let alone what they did while they were there?
I watch C-SPAN. I hear a lot of dissent (Murtha, Pelosi, et al.)
The plantation remark made no sense and should rank high in the Most Asinine Comments of 2006 contest. Reps are elected, slave owners are not. If you want your dissent to matter, create a majority through elections. The Smartest Woman in the World seems like a real dim bulb to me. I wonder how many in the audience said "Huh?" when she said it.
scrabblehack, I watch C-Span and I feel the calls are 3 to 1 against the Republicans.
We need a good man running against hillary and whoever and I keep hearing the name Allan or Allen I think, of Virginia (?).
Big farm
I don't doubt that he did it, but I've never been able to understand the motive. Have you????
---and there is a rest of story not included here.
The video of clinton and friends leaving Ron Brown's funeral, laughing until clinton spots camera, clinton then wipes tear away and pouts lips and bows head and ..... the media ignored everything!!!

"-----In late December 1995, after Michael had been officially but quietly targeted, Ron Brown turned serious. He was the one person in America capable of bringing down the Clinton administration, and the Clintons knew it. His knowledge of their Asian dealings, which had not yet erupted into scandal, was the only real leverage he had in pressuring them to subvert the independent counsel. "
