"Senator Kennedy joined Harvard's Owl Club in 1954..."
He just now realized that it did not have any women in it.
Teddy Alert BTTT

Does quitting his all-male club (sounds suspiciously gay) mean that Kennedy is no longer a bigot?
The packers need all the help they can get right now. LOL
Kennedy "criticized Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito's past membership in a controversial Princeton University alumni club."
The CAP was not a social club. It was an organization attempting to alter the overwhelming slant at Princeton. It favored the return of ROTC. It was skeptical about abandoning the single-sex tradition of Princeton, but that change was irreversible by the time CAP got organized. (Does every school have to be co-ed?) CAP was, like most sensible people, opposed to racial admissions quotas, except that it favored preferences for alumni children. Is that bad?
I have news! The big, prestigious schools favor alumni children of RICH alumni. Believe me, they do: I know too many cases. They will not shun the chance for huge gifts down the line.
CAP was not exclusive in any way. As far as I know, there was no formal membership list: just a mailing list, and a list of contributors. I was one of the contributors myself. I never even got a membership card, and never went to a meeting, if there were any.
I discuss this because even conservative media have made it sound as though CAP were something embarrassing, like a golf club with unfashionable membership restrictions. Not so, Cap was just a generally conservative group working peacefully for its traditionalist interests: that is supposed to be what you are allowed to do in a democracy. Countless liberal groups do the same, only I prefer a group which tries to protect valuable traditions, not destroy them.
Thank you SO much for that useless piece of information.
"Ping me when he quits the Senate."
Don't hold your breath waiting for that to happen. He'll never quit; he'll stay there until he dies.
Hear! Hear!
IMO, a duplicate post is one that is posted within an hour or so of one that is still getting hits. The mods kill those pretty quick. But, that's just me. Next to "Bush's fault" "Already posted" is second lamest.
" . . . I would have hated to miss this one!"
Same here. I didn't get a chance to get on FR earlier in the day. I don't want to miss a good Tubby-bashing!
I did a search, and it was negative. The other article I saw posted earlier today said he was considering quitting, but had not so yet. I dont think Jim Robinson (he's the founder of FR, xcam) would reply to a superfluous post (see #4).
(I saw a recent picture of the fatduck cousin in connection with this story and he is a dead ringer for the fatduck uncle.)
