Rev. R. Albert Mohler, Jr., the president of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, says it's "an absolute revolt against God's design" if husbands and wives purposely avoid bearing children.
On his Web site and other articles and interviews, Mohler argues that "marriage, sex and children are part of one package" and that "to deny any part of this wholeness is to reject God's intention in creation and his mandate revealed in the Bible."
In a CNN interview, the Baptist leader added, We grow up by having children. Without that responsibility, we have a generation of perpetual adolescents just growing old."
When I learned that "Pilot" Pilate was just a dithering middleaged bureaucrat who couldn't take a stand, I was disappointed. How did he get the job, anyway?
Hey! You did a good job already with bolding!!!
I usually just use a few tags,
paragraphs, libe breaks, bold, and italics.
Easy to remember. :-)
WK, I think CW wants to marry Helga from down the street. That's why he's asking.
Yes, there are some of us who haven't been able to for sure. BUT I am working towards it.
him to WKB:So you just sit in judgment of others all on your own. How convenient.
That's a nice "judgement" you made there. How convenient.
WK, I think he's "out of the spirit" of things. Maybe discern of. :)
WKB I have "self-determined" that CWOJackson has Monkeypox.
No need, it's already there and evident.
It is evident that all men are created equal....
LOL! Do you want me to cut and paste the whole thread?
That's wearing pretty thin you know.
LOL! To put things in perspective...what you wonder makes no difference whatsoever. Tell me, do you put as much effort into your own faith as you try to push onto others?
Heck, at least WK's not pushing it away.
Read the first few replies. It is amazing to see how few really understand or believe what God so clearly told us. "Go forth and Multiply" is a pretty clear command. The good reverend may be Baptist, but he sounds Catholic on this topic, at least to me.
Good for you, then there may be hope. My attitude is that my salvation is between myself and my God. You and your reverend aren't in the equation anywhere. I agree, that kind of attitude isn't very conducive to the religion business.
CWO Jackson Math---- ME + ME + ME + ME + ME = God
You really don't get it do you? Just like the decision to have children or not...it's none of your damned business is it?
It's up to whomever swims the fastest.
It is between us and our Maker, not him.
Not HIM? Uh-oh.
It is between us and our Maker, not him.
Not HIM? Uh-oh.
When did God hire him to speak for Him?
Let's sing a him.....
We decided to have children because we wanted to,
That's why anyone does.
That is the TRUTH!
I know several couples who used the pill (correctly) and got pregnant!
My mother gave birth to 3 "spermicide babies."
Depends on the teacher Robby. I regularly put in 15 or 16 hours a day (several hours on the weekend too) on teaching stuff. BUT I don't respect the woman for saying she doesn't want children. I've seen plenty of teachers become good mothers. I've also seen many who have stayed home with their children and then come back to teaching and many that quit to raise their child at home.
As a teacher who HAS wanted children for years, but hasn't had the privilege of doing so, I do find that a little hard to take. But my job is in helping to hopefully touch lives and serve others' children for now.
The whole purpose of becoming adult is to assist the next generation. For most people, that means creating and improving conditions for children, and creating children themselves.
