I say 'black' and I say 'white'. Nothing wrong with that. The Left has been stealing the language for some time now. I remember thirty years ago having discussions in college about 'Mr., Mrs., Miss and Ms.' They won that one.

TCM channel plays it every once in a while. It's a good movie, the plot is a little confusing, but anything with Bogart and Bacall is a keeper.

The '78 version of the movie with Robert Mitchum as Philip Marlowe wasn't bad, either.
I like the Bogart version better.

Hey, Nagin's explanation of the "chocolate New Orleans" is hard to swallow. After all, an African American majority means just a little tiny bit of milk and a whole lot of cocoa. Whereas we all know that chocolate has a whole lot of milk and a little tiny bit of cocoa.

Try again, Ray.

I bet my library has it. I like to borrow the old movies and watch them, because I missed them the first time. Because of Chief Justice Roberts I watched "North By Northwest" and "Dr. Zhivago", this fall for the first time.

Not only that, but his original quote had nothing about chocolate MILK in it, it was just CHOCOLATE. Now unless he's talking about milk chocolate, chocolate in and of itself has no milk in it.

Nagin would be better off just keeping his mouth shut.

Thanks for the tip, "North By Northwest" was actually the first Hitchcock, I have ever seen.

North By Northwest is a classic ~ they voiced over an Eva Marie Saint line when they were in the trains dining car, the original was "I never have sex," or "make love, on an empty stomach" the censors thought that was a little too risque for '59 so they voiced it over with a vanilla phrase.

If you watch her lips closly you can detect it. :)

Now you mention my favorite subject...The classics were THE BEST. Scripts never used foul language: I never curse in my personal life...why would I want to hear it on the screen. They (filmmakers) remind me of adolescents..."oooou, I used a dirty word, he he he." Grow up Hollywood. Learn more words, screenwriters. Hey, directors: don't show so much skin. Leave it to the imagination. Jerks.
