during the Vietnam War, the notorious COINTELPRO program was part and parcel of the abuses experienced by Dr. [Martin Luther] King and thousands of others."
Has Teddy Kennedy had a chance to comment on on this? (Since his two brothers ran this program)

He sounds stark raving looney. He needs a nice jacket with sleeves that tie in the back.

Does anybody know anything about this kid, MoveOn's political chief, Eli Pariser? He's the son of 60's radicals according to one site. Who on earth were they?

Here's a good quote on Gore's recent speeches from
this blog:
Gore's taken it upon himself to be some sort of "ethics czar" while giving speeches that sound as if he's trying to perform Nikita Kruschev's greatest hits on Karaoke Night at the nuthouse.
To: frankjr
If Al Gore was President he would have been talking about why rounding up Evangelical activists was a good thing.

You don't get the full impact of the Goron's insanity unless you hear the actual audio of his speech. It's hilarious!

Gore's speech was sponsored by the American Constitution Society, a group founded in 2001 to be the liberal counterpart to the Federalist Society, and by an organization called the Liberty Coalition, a little-known group created last year, in the words of its mission statement, "to help organize, support, and coordinate transpartisan public policy activities related to civil liberties and basic human rights." To show its "transpartisanship," the Coalition claims as partners the American Civil Liberties Union and the American Conservative Union; MoveOn.org and Americans for Tax Reform; Democrats.com and Townhall.Should have known before the Gore speech that it was engineered to co-incide with something like the NSA lawsuit....The News this morning: 1)Gore speech, followed by 2)NSA lawsuit by 'civil rights lawyers', followed by 3) Hilary calling the Bush administration 'a plantation' in a speech for Martin Luther King, followed by 4) Bush Senior visiting Pakistan with the 'boming of women and children'
That was all mentioned in 4 minutes on the today show!

Since Gore is so qualified to give a legal opinion on then I assume he knows the details of this program? sarc

First we had
partisan and
bipartisan ... and now we have
transpartisan. Would that be the political equivalent of a "transsexual", flip-flopping from one side of an issue to another?

You really have to see it, not just hear it. He's slipping, I think he only had 12 flags behind him for this speech.
(Remember in 2000, when Gore and Bush got into what appeared to be a flag war, with each successive appearance having MORE american flags in the back?)
To: right-wingin_It
I think Hillary called CONGRESS a plantation. Thats how I remember it.
To: All
I must ask forgiveness for voting for this imbecile twice for senator. You can blame the people of Tenn. for Gore even becoming VP.
