Very Interesting!
This ping list is not author-specific for articles I'd like to share. Some for the perfect moral clarity, some for provocative thoughts; or simply interesting articles I'd hate to miss myself. (I don't have to agree with the author all 100% to feel the need to share an article.) I will try not to abuse the ping list and not to annoy you too much, but on some days there is more of the good stuff that is worthy of attention. You can see the list of articles I pinged to lately on my page.
You are welcome in or out, just freepmail me (and note which PING list you are talking about). Besides this one, I keep 2 separate PING lists for my favorite authors Victor Davis Hanson and Orson Scott Card.

"But treating Palestinians as people doesn't turn off a large segment of the Jewish population...what might turn them off is treating terrorists as people. Not demonizing human beings is dandy, but in their effort not to demonize humans, Spielberg and Kushner end up humanizing demons.""...Vengeance holds there is a difference between terrorism and counterterrorism; "Munich" suggests there isn't...Spielberg's movie worries about the moral trap of resisting terror; my book worries about the moral trap of not resisting it."
Wow. It's curious this movie came out going head to head against Narnia. The author's remarks project an analytical approach similar to that of C.S. Lewis...

If my old truck was a horse
I'd have to shoot it
Lord the day my ship came in
I was waiting for a train
Everytime i get a grip, i always lose it
I can't find the sunshine for the rain
And you know i'm always saying i'm sorry
But you stand by me through it all
Seems everytime i make my mark
Somebody paints the wall
Everytime i think i'm off and runnin
I'm barely up to a crawl
Everytime i get a leg up on the ladder of success
I slip and fall
Like last week down at the factory
I was up for a promotion
But the boss says little brother got the call
Seems everytime i make my mark
Somebody paints the wall
Everytime i think i'm off and runnin
I'm barely up to a crawl
Everytime i get a leg up
On the ladder of success, i slip and fall
Like last week down at the factory
I was up for a promotion
But the boss says little brother got the call
Seems like everytime i make my mark
Somebody paints the wall
Seems everytime i make my mark
Somebody always paints the wall

His screenwriter Tony Kushner says they do not wish to demonize either side. Such remarks illustrate why, in an era of moral chaos, Hollywood is unlikely to restore clarity. With due respect to pop culture and its undisputed master, one doesn't reach the moral high ground by being neutral between good and evil. Spielberg is a fabulous entertainer, a magician of a director, a very astute businessman -- maybe, just maybe, it's too much to ask that he should be a significant moral philosopher as well. He brings to the screen an adolescent's fresh eye: that's his strength. He also brings an adolescent's naïve confusion: that's his weakness. That's exactly the problem. Spielberg should stick to pure entertainment and stay away from historical cases. His lack of moral clarity... we don't want to demonize anyone... there's no good vs. evil, just intolerance etc, impedes his ability to recognize reality and to take the facts as they are.
