Williams and the other signers stressed that they were acting individually and not on behalf of their congregations, whose affiliations include: The American Baptist Churches/USA; the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ); the Episcopal Church in the USA; the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America; Judaism; the United Church of Christ; the United Methodist Church; Presbyterian Church, USA; and the Unitarian Universalist Association. More Hummmm...!?

I think churches should abandon tax exemption anyway. I was a member of a small church in NYS that lost its tax exempt status during the Clintoon years. We did not crumble as a result of that attack.
We need to move away from our reliance on the state and back to a reliance on God. Especially in this day and age!

Of course, I don't believe in claiming my tithes and offerings on tax forms either.

---again, we need not only a congress and president who understand the phrase "Congress shall make no law--", but a Supreme Court as well--

Freedom of Speech was taken away from churches by Demonrats during the early 1950's. I don't remember all of the particulars as to how this happened, but of the date I am certain.

Here is the "real" problem: That Parsley and Johnson have launched a "partisan-oriented" voter-registration campaign "with the goal of registering 400,000 voter[s]..

When "mainline" churches began teaching secular humanism and values clarification, when "mainline" churches refused to address the killing of babies for the sake of convenience, when "mainline" churches joined the National Council of Churches and celebrated diverstity and self love, THIS was the result.

If an independent fundamental church wants to address the killing of babies, killing of grandpa, gay marriages, so-called "world peace," and world "unity" the mainline churches set the IRS on them.

This mainline heresy substitutes for God's sacred word. Be warned... It's getting down and dirty now. Do NOT GIVE MAINLINE CHURCHES A DIME OF YOUR MONEY BECAUSE IT WILL ALL GO TOWARD COLLECTIVIST GOALS.

And pray for the Christian Coalition.

"For me, it’s church and state, not church in state and I really feel there are some churches in central Ohio crossing that line," said Eric Williams, senior pastor of the host church.
. . . so why is Pastor Williams going to the government and criticizing another church?
ministers signed a complaint asking the Internal Revenue Service to investigate World Harvest Church of Columbus and Fairfield Christian Church of Lancaster and determine if their tax-exempt status should be revoked.
In a true flat tax or a national sales tax regime, there would be no issue for the government - which simply means that the ministers who are complaining are the pot calling the kettle black.

the moderate ministers

The reporters prove themselves liars when they go on to add this:

affiliations include: The American Baptist Churches/USA; the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ); the Episcopal Church in the USA; the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America; Judaism; the United Church of Christ; the United Methodist Church; Presbyterian Church, USA; and the Unitarian Universalist Association.

...moderate ministers...

Calling these ministers moderate is akin to Ted Kennedy accusing Judge Alito "out of the mainstream."

The Columbus Dispatch has become a DNC shill since they recruited from the Cleveland Plain Dealer several years ago. Marrison and Hallet drive the agenda train daily. They wouldn't know "mainstream" or "moderate" if it hit their fat asses.
