From what I have been able to put together, the government is monitoring all international calls for certain keywords. If these keywords are recognized, the conversation is recorded and sent to an analyst to determine a threat level.
If this is true, I have to say that I agree - it is unconstitutional and needs to be stopped. There are very clear laws on the books to prevent this - it is not allowable without a warrant!
People need to realize that taking away liberties and disregarding existing law cannot be allowed.

There's no law on any books to prohibit the practice you describe.

WRONG...what the constitution protects US from it use of information in a criminal trial without a warrant to gather that info.
The administration is not going to court with the info gathered, or trying to prosecute with the info gathered, rather they are using the info to stop, or interfere with the process of foreign nationals [or U.S. citizens who have ties to foreign nationals] who might be planning to bring harm and/or chaos to the the U.S. people or their properties.

From what I've been able to put together, this practice was started under the Clinton Administration.
The Elm knows this, of course But the idiot moonbattery of the Stalinist Left demands a certain amount of hypocrisy when an election is looming.

You have to consider the worst case scenario in this event. Scenario 1: A person or persons are spied upon while conversing with another party in another country or at least offshore.
Scenario 2: A very large number of innocent people are murdered in some incredibly violent and no doubt painful way. Perhaps even millions at one time.
Hmmm... civil rights violation or potential Apocalyptic death and destruction... on which side should we err?

Would it be constitutional if the analysts were not Americans, and the analysis was provided to the US as foreign intelligence?
