When it comes to the Today Show and the MSM at large, sometimes the Bush administration and its war on terror just can't win. Take the show's coverage of our recent attempt to hit Ayman al-Zawahiri, Al-Qaeda's #2.
What if we missed him? According to this morning's Today, that would be "a huge blow to America's image abroad."
Well then, what if we got him? Well, as Today informed us, that's not so good either: "Even if Al-Zawahari was killed, America's relations with a key ally have paid a price."
See what I mean?
Today chose to lead its show with images of angry anti-US protests in Pakistan, as Matt Lauer spoke of a "boiling point."
And just in case anyone missed the message, NBC reporter Jim Maceda, in Pakistan, played a brief clip in which the former head of Pakistani intelligence declared:
"I like the CIA; we work together. But i daresay they are a huge failure and they have to be responsible for it."
So let's summarize:
Huge blow to the US if we missed Zawahiri. We pay a price even if we got him. And, oh yeah, we have to be responsible for our 'huge failure.'
Got it.
Today Show/NewsBusters targeted-strike ping.
If a terrorist is invited for dinner, then I don't see why they are surprised that a few missiles landed at their house.
Anyone who supports terrorists should be hounded and rounded up just as the terrorists.
Bunch of BS. I say. if he was invited to dine there, he must've had some friends that blowed up real good......
BONUS COVERAGE
Also in the first half-hour, Ann Curry conducted an adoring interview with Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, the newly-elected President of Liberia. Ann spoke with open envy of the fact that Liberia had beaten the US to the punch when it came to electing a woman president. Don't worry, Ann - you'll have your chance to campaign for Hillary before long.
Later came a segment on a radical fad in eco-tourism - visits to the still-radioactive area surrounding the Chernobyl nuclear reactor in the Ukraine. The American woman tour guide, who has made 19 visits to the area, solemnly declared that "humans are more dangerous to nature than radioactivity."
No.
Big win win....this sent a message AQ that will understand(even though it flies over the medias heads)we will reach across borders to get at the leaders of AQ.
We might not have gotten Mr. Z......but we sure sent a message. Let the rats sneak around underground in the future. Always worried about a bomb landing on them!
LOL.....guess Indira Ghandi, Golda Meier, Maggie Thatcher, and a Lady Bhuto are chopped liver!!!
It appears that the agency was pretty heavy handed on this one. Pilotless drones had been circling the village for days...no wonder al-Zawhari took a raincheck on dinner.
Omar is quiet in .
Omar is quiet. .
Yep. When your dinner invitation gets blowed up, you'll be eating on the run some time to come.
U.S. misses on Al-Zawahari; the Left rejoices.
Once again, bad news for America, great news for the Democrats.
You seem to be enjoying your visits to the dark side. ;-)
It's a strange, some-might-say masochistic fascination I have with the nether regions of the MSM ;-)
This is the theory of "you are damed if you do, and damed if you don't". President Bush has to fight this everyday. God Bless our President he has taken a tough road.
"Big win win....this sent a message AQ that will understand(even though it flies over the medias heads)we will reach across borders to get at the leaders of AQ."
No one is denying this target was used by Al-Qaeda as a safe house - so another message it sends is if you allow them into your home you may wake up some morning sleeping in a smoking hole in the ground.
Guess the show wasn't about to showcase their hero McCain defending the drone attack. Senator Feinstein also supported the effort to get Mr. Z and said it was regrettable about the civilians.....collateral damage....but necessary.
I swear these a-holes are being paid by Axis of Evil.
