Are we still in an era where we believe if your gay then you have AIDS?

For the safety of society that's the only smart way to think. It only takes one exposure to catch the disease and most of the sodomites have dozens of exposures per month (or even per week)

By now I would think way more heterosexual people have HIV than gays.

Mentally heathly people (heterosexuals) don't go around putting things where they don't belong to the insane degree that the mentally diseased people ('homosexuals) do. Therefore we mentally healthy people have a far, far, far lessor rate of exposure and a far lower incidence of the disease. In fact, in the USA the main reservoir for the disease is those who are also afflicted with Same-sex Attraction Disorder

Let's see. Accept tainted blood and disperse a deadly, incurable disease to perhaps hundreds of people or refuse the tainted blood and be safe. Seems that the question is incredibly wise to ask.
