Gen-xer women typically do not make good spouses.

I think it is Gen-Xers both men and women that have problems with marriage. My theory is this demographic did not have to walk 6 miles uphill to school. They want instant gratification. This group does not have patience or want to sacrifice for long term goals. A marriage should be for a life time and thus the plans should reflect that.

A co-worker's husband walked out on her and the two kids (3yr & 3mo old) becuase it wasn't working out for him. He did not his own time and it is to hard having two kids to take care of.

Another co-worker wants to get divorced and leave the kids with the husband so she can pursue her career. Basically, the kids are preventing her from flying all over the world for work.

I guess my point is to find someone that is dedicated to a long term marriage and understands that it will be filled with work and a lifetime of responsibilities.

ITA - totally. I also agree with your last sentence. Too many men and women don't understand that having a stable loving home and having children is work - damn hard work. LOLL A friend of our youngest daughters and her hubby was asked when he was going to settle down and get married. He said when he found a woman like Krisi, but then he said he would have to give up on all his dreams to settle down. Krisi told him that wasn't true but he might have to compromise some. Her hubby did. He was a bareback rider - got a scholarship to college on it. Did that for some years and then realized that he had to change his "dream". He has a band now and is doing CDs and soon to sign with a Texas label to promote him. The music is something he could do and still have time with his family (and make money too) BTW, his website is www.mikesanfordband.com - ya'll check it out and sign the guestbook. He has some clips of his music on there.
