Clinton advises Tony Blair on retirement

Former U.S. President Bill Clinton says British Prime Minister Tony Blair can look forward to both financial and spiritual rewards when he leaves office.

In an interview with the BBC, Clinton said he had talked to Blair about his future and tried to give him the benefit of his own experience. Blair has said he will not stand in the next British election.

Asked about the possibility of Blair becoming secretary-general of the United Nations, Clinton said Blair would be a good choice.

"What I would say to him and what I have said to him -- I saw him actually last month -- is that, when he does go, he's still got a lot he can do, a lot of good you can do in the world and that's the most important thing," Clinton said.

The former president said Blair could follow his example and create his own operation, or he could give his talents to an existing organization.

Clinton mentioned the other side of leaving politics -- "immense rewards" from speaking fees, books and articles and company directorships.

Little pay back for Blair announcing at the Clinton Forum a few months back that Kyoto is dead?

"immense rewards"

Basking in the glory of a disgraceful "legacy" of having proved to history what a slime-ball jerk and Impeached liar under oath he was.

Obviously Clinton doesn't have much to brag about. No wonder he almost dropped dead, he is probably so full of pills now he don't even know what day it is. If he did, his Eternal Shame would all come rushing back and shove him deep into a grave.

Clinton discussing spiritual rewards? GACK.

...the possibility of Blair becoming secretary-general of the United Nations, Clinton said Blair would be a good choice.

Yeah right, Clinton would rather see him Marcy Parked and decrease the competition.

Blair has done some great things and some stupid things. Our guy, clinton, was an idiot.

I know we are constantly told the EUs loved the toon but that was a farce. When I was in Europe during the clinton years they recognized he was trash before we did,

Sociopath Clinton said "I" three times in one sentence.

I wish this classless POS would stop opining and just disappear. I'd sooner take swimming lessons from Ted Kennedy than political/life advice from Bill.

The Prime Minister has bought a house for his retirement. All indications are that he is going to live there and write a book.

He's a grown up individual and needed no advice.

" Blair has done some great things and some stupid things. Our guy, clinton, was an idiot."

Politically they're basically very similar, though Blair is probably more instinctively left wing. The main difference concerning the way Blair is often portrayed on this forum is that you only had to live with one of them...

You obviously missed the first word of my comment, despite quoting it!

In my opinion, the difference between Clinton and Blair is not only personal integrity, but that Blair actually believes in things. He may believe in the wrong things, but he does actually believe in something. Clinton believes in nothing but himself.

No I got it. One of Clinton's biggest flaws was the fact that his personal "issues" crossed over into his politics.

Clinton's idea of spiritual rewards are late night conversations with

"When I was in Europe during the clinton years they recognized he was trash before we did,"

I always thought the good Brits could recognize trailer trash. He was a disgrace then and continues to be. He is irrelevant in the world except to the moonbats. Just keep him OUT of the UN.

Just out of curiosity, has Jerry "I, Me, My" Rivers ever interviewed Billy "I, Me, My" Jeff?
