Canada is turning Blue. Paul Martin is sounding increasingly desperate. Its not over yet because in the last week before the election Conservatives may yet save the Liberals by saying dumb things. But if Stephen Harper can keep every one focused on message Canada's natural governing party will be no more and the Tories will have the triumph of the century. Stay tuned. This is the most exciting election Canada has ever witnessed.

I miss the days when Republicans were blue. Ghads it was wonderful watching election night in 1980.

Remember, the sitting "Grits" government ( Liberal, what else? ) clings to power after refusing to step down- they lost a "no confidence" vote.
The Canadian Blogs have led the way investigating, exposing, talking about, and keeping before the public the "scandal a day" nature of Canada's corrupt, incestuous, nepotic ruling class.
You really need to read all of it to see how bad 13 years of "liberal" government can be.
Read it all, get sick, get mad- and if you are Canadian, go vote.

Red should be for Democrats and Blue should be for Republicans. The networks decided in 1996 that Blue should be used for the incumbent party (they didn't want the Democrats to continue to have the Commie connotations of Red) and thus the GOP was Red in 1996 and 2000; when 2004 rolled around, the Red-Blue maps of 2000 had become so ubiquitous that the networks kept the GOP as Red and the RATs as Blue. But that's just wrong. Fortunately, the best website for presidential election maps and statistics, Dave Leip's Atlas of U.S. Presidential Elections, http://uselectionatlas.org/USPRESIDENT/index.html still has Republicans as Blue and Democrats as Red, and even uses darker blue for more heavily Republican areas and darker red for more heavily RAT areas (places like Detroit and San Francisco are so "red" that they are brown).
